If you’re talking about the most ridiculous wealthy families, the Xie family is one of them, thanks to a certain “Xie Rong.” The Zui family is another, thanks to a certain “Zui Yuan.” The two families have always been as calm as still water. There’s no old family feud, no clash of interests, no business dealings, no hardship or helping each other out in a crisis. They’ve only ever heard of each other, without knowing each other personally. They were complete strangers who had never met.
But the ridiculous thing is that the most ridiculous people from those two families ended up together.
They first met in a bar, during a drinking session meant to end in drunken oblivion. Xie Rong was comforting a friend who’d just been dumped. The other main character took one look at the little princess of the Xie family and was smitten. He overheard what she said and thought she was a loyal friend, and she could really drink, too. Of course, he had no idea she was from the Xie family.
The little princess liked him too, thinking he was easy on the eyes.
They both felt like flirting with each other, but then one incident put an end to all that.
They introduced themselves and wrote their names down for each other. The guy read her surname wrong, pronouncing Xie Rong as “Jie Rong” instead of “Xie Rong.” He even asked what kind of name that was, then laughed. That was the problem.
The little princess had never put up with anyone giving her attitude, so she got mad on the spot. She was also a bit chuunibyou, believing that those who followed her would prosper and those who opposed her would perish. She was at her rebellious age, too. After learning his name, she gave him the nickname “Worst Luck” and laughed louder than he had, mocking him: “You’re the unluckiest person ever, huh?”
After that, they didn’t get together. Instead, they became enemies who couldn’t stand the sight of each other. Whenever they met, they wanted to pick a fight, though they had a bit of a love-hate relationship. But in every fight, “Worst Luck” was the one who lost. The two families grew familiar with each other as well, and every time, the “weak and helpless” little princess was somehow in the right, while Worst Luck was always to blame. He was especially unconvinced, and the two of them really got into it. After a string of incidents, they became a bickering couple and eventually got married. Worst Luck turned into a henpecked husband, and later they had three children. In the end, he really did become the unluckiest one of all.
It was enough to make anyone’s jaw drop. And then came another ridiculous development: the husband was the first to have a child. When it came time to name him, he couldn’t even be bothered to think of one, so he just gave the boy his own surname. Since they’d met in a bar, and a drink could drown a thousand sorrows, they named him Zui Qianchou.
That was one thing, but then their second son was named Xie Qianchou, and their third son was named Jie Qianchou. It was ridiculous beyond belief. After that, they didn’t even know which family name to use.
Then came another ridiculous turn. This story is about their third son, Jie Qianchou.
At eighteen, he figured he’d been single long enough and it was time to date someone.
His friend was so good to him that he thought the guy had a crush on him. He was so considerate and did everything for him. Sometimes, when his friend looked at him, the gaze seemed so deep and affectionate.
Okay, one of life’s great misconceptions. Turns out his friend didn’t like him. He was so good to him because of his older brother. His friend had a crush on his second brother!
He just wanted to ask: His second brother was such a womanizer, so shameless. What did the guy even like about him?
His young heart, eager for love, shattered on the spot. He went to a bar to drink his sorrows away, only to have someone come up to him. It was an “old man,” since he was already twenty-nine, practically thirty.
And it wasn’t that he was only into men. He was open to anyone. He just thought girls were meant to be pampered, and he was a rough sort who preferred someone more rugged, so he tended to favor men.
But he wasn’t all that into this old man. He was way too forward, already so old, and who knew how many people he’d been with? Plus, he was taller than him! That was absolutely unacceptable!
An eighteen-year-old high school senior meets a twenty-nine-year-old old man. Their chance encounter begins.
Each of the three brothers has his own charms. The eldest is like a rock, the second is like a peacock, and the youngest is like a mischievous kid.
