Can Amnesia Count as a Work Injury?

Loka grew up in the One Piece world and didn’t realize something was wrong with it until she was eighteen.

First, she discovered that Ace seemed to have the potential to be a transmigrator like her. The first time she met him, the impact of their collision shook down the storage room in her house that concealed a transmigration array.

Then she discovered that Ace’s younger brother had somehow become Uchiha Sasuke from the neighboring set. The first time she met Sasuke, the aura he brought from the world next door shook down the entire apartment building where she lived.

With her mortgage still unpaid, Loka had no choice but to embark on a one-way quest to get those brothers to pay for the damages.

Sasuke brought out the valuables he’d accumulated over the years, along with the gold, silver, and jewels he’d earned on his recent missions, piled them all into a box, and shoved it in front of Loka with a swagger. “This is to pay you back for the house.”

Loka glanced calmly over the glittering treasures. “My house? Your brother already paid you back for it.”

Sasuke’s breath caught. Before he could respond, Loka smiled and said, “I see he still thinks of you as the little kid who used to follow him around.”

Ace was deeply troubled by how Loka and Sasuke were always at odds. One day, he finally came right out and asked Loka, “What do you get out of messing with Sasuke?”

Loka smiled mysteriously. “I can see that Sasuke is naturally beautiful and exceptionally talented. I want to train him to become a magical boy, so I hope he’ll keep honing his skills...”

Ace laughed at her joke. “If you’re going to lie, at least come up with a better one. Is that how you use the phrase ‘naturally beautiful’?”

“Fine.” Loka sulked, unable to fool Ace. “Sasuke’s got a strong physique and impeccable manners, but he’s immature and gets flustered easily. It’s just so much fun. Don’t you think he’s a source of amusement that’ll keep on giving?”

During a spaceflight mission, Guren was ambushed and injured her head. When she came to, she had amnesia. She still remembered her name and her past, but had no idea where she’d worked before losing her memory.

Having lost her job at the same time as her memories, Guren had no choice but to turn to relatives on Earth she hadn’t contacted in ages.

After suffering through one painful experience after another, including working for the Odd Jobs crew only for Gintoki to nearly spend her wages on pachinko, joining Katsura’s anti-foreigner activities and ending up on permanent standby in a garbage dump’s cesspool, helping Takasugi with terrorist activities and nearly getting wanted by the whole internet, and getting talked into doing business by Tatsuma only to lose every last penny, Guren learned her lesson: her relatives were either vicious criminals or total airheads. When it came down to it, she could only rely on herself.

While looking for part-time work on Earth after losing her job, Guren kept running into a Night Rabbit boy who claimed to be a space pirate. He was her age and of the same clan, but the first time she saw him, his aura reminded her of a ghost lurking in a stairwell, and she punched him without thinking.

Later, after they got mixed up in one thing after another, Guren accidentally discovered that Kamui had been her direct superior before she lost her memories:

“...Why, you little... Kamui! You not only failed to cover your amnesiac subordinate’s medical bills or work injury insurance, you also got me to work for you unpaid for so long while my social insurance contributions went unpaid! I’m going to take on you slave-driving scumbag!”
