When the Gingerbread Man Awakens

Every time someone tells the fairy tale The Gingerbread Man on the Run, the poor Gingerbread Man gets eaten by the cunning fox all over again.

The God of Fairy Tales couldn't bear to watch and asked whether it wanted a better ending. He could arrange for it to stay safe in a display case, adored by everyone, and even let those competing for it bid, so it could live a wealthy life.

But the Gingerbread Man refused. It only wanted to run outside. It only wanted freedom.

The God of Fairy Tales said that without an intelligent mind and a strong body, freedom was impossible. He could send it into other fairy tales so it could gain those things...

(Only the opening is written. I'll continue if I get inspiration.)
