Farming Life: After Marrying a Fake Husband

[I'm writing this suspension notice with great difficulty. Last week, my supervisor told me I might be sent away for a three-to-six-month residential training program. Today, I received official confirmation that I've been selected.

Actually, I got the news during the National Day holiday, just three days after I started posting this book. At the time, I wondered if I should put it on hold. There were plenty of people more qualified than me, so I wasn't sure I'd be selected. I also had 110,000 words in reserve, and thought I might find time to write in between, so the backlog could hold out for a while.

But over the past few days, I've realized it's simply impossible. Almost every day, my schedule is packed from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. There's only a short lunch break and time to eat, nowhere near enough for me to prepare 3,000 words a day. I have enough chapters in reserve to keep updating for about half a month, but they haven't been proofread. I'm a slow editor, and it takes me about 40 minutes to an hour to revise a chapter. I don't want to publish chapters that might have typos or unclear logic. After thinking it over for several days, I've decided to wait until the training is over, finish the entire book, and then start posting again.

I'm so sorry to all the readers who've been following the updates, especially Xiao P. Thank you. It feels like one unexpected problem after another has come up ever since I started planning to write this book.

I'll try to find a balance between work and writing as soon as possible, and fill this hole as soon as I can.

My apologies again.

🫡 At heart, this is a sweet farming story about building a fortune 💗 Not much court politics

Guan Shanyue transmigrates and wakes up as a down-on-his-luck hunter in Little River Village, with a thatched hut from the start.

While out hunting, he happens to rescue a young man with a younger brother in tow.

The beautiful, delicate young man gazes at him with tearful eyes and says he fell in love at first sight. 🥺

Guan Shanyue: Uh, I'm a respectable man. I'm not that easy. 😳

Three days later, a beautiful husband has moved into the dilapidated thatched hut.

Realizing he's fallen for him, Guan Shanyue resolves to give his wife and brother-in-law a good life. And so begins his struggle to farm, make money, and spoil his wife.

As the saying goes: A well-spoiled wife brings wealth and good fortune.

In just one year, the thatched hut turns into a house with green-tiled roofs, and their pockets are full of money and grain.

Guan Shanyue thinks life is wonderful. Everything is perfect, except that when he cuddles and snuggles up to his wife at night, he gets kicked right off the bed!

But fate hits him with a cruel blow.

Guan Shanyue accidentally discovers his little husband's shocking secret. To help his wife achieve his great ambitions, he has no choice but to let him go with tears in his eyes. 🥹

Xiao Chiguang was born into the imperial family. After being framed by a villain, he ends up homeless with his younger brother. To save his own life, he has no choice but to disguise himself as a young man and marry the man who rescues him.

At first, it's all just an act. But as they spend day after day together, Xiao Chiguang gradually falls for him.

The day before he's ready to confess his secret to Guan Shanyue, his false identity as a young man is exposed, and he receives a letter of divorce.

Xiao Chiguang (smiling): Good. I admire you, indeed. 🙂

In the Golden Throne Hall.

Guan Shanyue kneels on the ground, keeping his eyes down.

A breeze rises. He looks up.

Huh? Why does this emperor look so much like my ex (strike that), my wife? 🫣

[Reading guide]

1. Farming is the main focus, with little palace intrigue. The pace is fairly slow.

2. My elementary-school-level writing isn't going to improve in this lifetime. I'll try harder in the next one.

3. I made the cover by hand! (Proud)
