Mai Doudou is the only child of powerful chancellor He Cheng and his husband Sang Zhi. He is five years old. One day, he and his father are ambushed by bandits and transmigrate to the modern world.
Faced with this strange new era, Mai Doudou keeps a brave face and comforts Sang Zhi. “Don't panic, Dad. Doudou will help you find Father!”
And so, a tiny little dumpling of a child leads a bewildered, handsome man in ancient clothing on a marvelous journey to “find Dad for Father.”
There is just one small problem: Doudou is face-blind.

Doudou rises onto his tiptoes and scans the crowd, immediately picking out the tallest young man.
“Are you my father?”
The tall young man bends down and looks at the soft, cuddly little bundle. He smiles brightly. “I could be!”
Doudou covers his face in dismay. Oh no, he got the wrong person!
Clue two: His father is the chancellor, immensely powerful and rich enough to rival a nation!
Doudou finds the man with the grandest presence and the most bodyguards.
The man narrows his eyes at the fair-faced child before him, then looks at Sang Zhi behind him, as delicate as a little white flower. Smiling, he says, “It's not out of the question.”

Doudou is disappointed. Doudou is sad. He walks right past the mighty, extraordinary, tall, handsome, powerful, fabulously rich man on the street.
The other man has no choice but to call out to him. “Mai Doudou, I hear you're looking for your dad?”
Doudou looks up at the face that looks just like the man's, studies him seriously for two seconds, then walks around him.
This isn't Father. He remembers now: Father's hair is long, just like theirs!
He Cheng: ???

At last, Mai Doudou finally finds his dad.
But...
Mai Doudou looks at the one, two, three people surrounding his father, all vying to be his dad.
He cups his face in his hands, troubled.
“Hmm, Doudou only has one father and one dad... So which one is my daddy?”
