The reason the comments section is closed is explained in the author's notes for Chapters 1 and 24.
In the first half of her life, Yu Wantang relied on her illustrious family and her parents' doting to get away with anything she pleased. Unfortunately, her good days didn't last. Her family went bankrupt, all because of a debt of sin incurred in her childhood.
She had already forgotten that person, but they weren't willing to let her go and insisted on making her their caged songbird.
To escape their clutches, Yu Wantang turned to her childhood friend, the formidable Wen Qingwu, for help.
Wen Qingwu and Yu Wantang were complete opposites. Yu Wantang was uninhibited by nature, while Wen Qingwu was restrained. Yu Wantang loved wearing miniskirts that showed off her fair, smooth, slender legs. Wen Qingwu never wore revealing clothes, no matter the occasion. Yu Wantang ranked at the bottom of her class and worked as she pleased, living for the moment. Wen Qingwu not only got into one of Huaguo's most prestigious universities, but after graduating, she founded her own haute couture label and turned it into a thriving, internationally renowned brand.
Yu Wantang had known since childhood that Wen Qingwu looked down on her, but she still loved clinging to her, from childhood through adulthood. After going bankrupt and being driven into a corner by that person, she was even more determined to mooch off Wen Qingwu.
But Wen Qingwu rejected her. The first time, Yu Wantang thought Wen Qingwu was just acting aloof as usual. But Wen Qingwu rejected her eight times in all. No matter where Yu Wantang ran into her, Wen Qingwu treated her like she was invisible. On the ninth try, Yu Wantang, utterly disheartened, decided to give it one last shot. If Wen Qingwu ignored her again, she would accept her fate!
And become that person's canary!
That day, the rain was pouring. Barefoot and drenched, Yu Wantang walked past Wen Qingwu's Maybach. She had no umbrella and let herself get soaked through. Her clothes clung to her jade-white skin, while streams of water slid down her satin-smooth hair and over her lips, blue with cold. Wen Qingwu watched her silently, her gaze deep and unreadable.
Yu Wantang thought she was going to turn her away again and was about to leave when Wen Qingwu's cool, clear voice rang out from inside the car: "Get in!"
One day, when Wen Qingwu was sixteen, a System awakened in her mind. It told her she was a supporting character in an angsty romance novel, a tool meant to create obstacles for the leads and then provide opportunities for them to get back together.
The System had appeared because it had noticed that Wen Qingwu's feelings for Yu Wantang had grown beyond its control. It had to stop Wen Qingwu and keep the novel's plot on track.
When the System saw Wen Qingwu tell Yu Wantang to get in the car, it repeatedly warned her: "Warning! Warning! The plot has deviated. Host, return to the predetermined storyline, or risk being erased by the System!"
Wen Qingwu lowered her delicate eyelids and forcibly shut down the System.
"Yu Wantang, you are the only disorder in my orderly life."
When Wen Qingwu said this to Yu Wantang, Yu Wantang didn't understand what it meant at first.
Only later did she realize how much those words weighed, so much that she wondered whether she deserved them.
But Wen Qingwu said, "A princess was never meant to fall into the mortal realm."
You deserve everything you have.
A stunning troublemaker x a cool, restrained powerhouse

The land is in turmoil, the kingdom lies in ruins.
The once-prosperous Jiang Kingdom has fallen to the Wu Kingdom's cavalry, and Princess Jiang Nongyu has become a fugitive, forced to hide from the world.
That day, Jiang Nongyu met the hidden guard assigned to protect her, carrying a seal that could prove her identity. But she mistook someone else for her guard.
Ji Mingying knew who Jiang Nongyu was: the little princess of Jiang. If she handed her over to the Emperor of Wu, she could collect ten thousand taels of silver. She drank the fiery liquor from her wineskin and told Jiang Nongyu that she was the hidden guard she had been looking for.
Ji Mingying hadn't expected the princess to take her for a hidden guard who obeyed her every command. Jiang Nongyu started ordering her around at every turn. She demanded spring water from the mountaintop, or she'd get a stomachache. She insisted on silk clothes, or her whole body would itch. At night, Ji Mingying had to hold and soothe her before she could fall asleep. And when Ji Mingying merely leaned against a tree, hugging her sword, to catch a nap, the little princess thought she had vanished and wept until her face was wet with tears. In her eighteen years of life, ten of them spent roaming the martial world, Ji Mingying had never been saddled with such a handful!
Jiang Nongyu thought she had a highly skilled and exceptionally loyal hidden guard. Apart from her somewhat bad temper, she seemed to have no other flaws. Then one day, she learned that the person who had cared for her day and night wasn't her hidden guard at all, but Ji Mingying, the Wu Kingdom's top assassin.
Ji Mingying was born with heterochromia and had a bloodthirsty, ruthless nature. She was known as the "Mad Dog," and countless people had died by her sword. Everything Jiang Nongyu had done to her would have been enough to get her killed a hundred times over.
Terrified, Jiang Nongyu couldn't sleep that night. She spent the whole night coming up with what she thought was a brilliant plan: seduce Ji Mingying with her beauty!
Jiang Nongyu slipped out of her clothes and crawled into Ji Mingying's arms, letting out a soft, coquettish whimper. "Please be kind to me, big sister."
Ji Mingying looked at her coldly, arms wrapped around her sword. Hah, was she really that kind of person? She had to get rid of this hot potato!
Ji Mingying, later: Actually, she's not that much of a hot potato. I've got thick skin, and I like it hot!
