As a child adopted by the Jiang family, Jiang Suizhi knew from the day they took him in that they didn't like him.
To stay with the Jiangs, he did his best to win over every member of the family. All he got in return were disdainful looks and mocking remarks.
Then, after a car accident left him covered in blood, he suddenly realized he was the cannon-fodder male supporting character in a novel, whose sole purpose was to serve as a foil to the real young master of the Jiang family.
When he opened his eyes again, he had been reborn.
Faced with the Jiang family members who had come to sneer at him, Jiang Suizhi blinked.
To hell with them. They can all do whatever they want. I'm done catering to them. Whether I live or die, whatever.
He stopped greeting them with a smile, meeting their eyes with nothing but indifference and annoyance. But little by little, everything began to change.
His eldest brother, who had never treated him kindly, began asking after him. The white-lotus young master Jiang had people make artificial snow overnight just because Jiang Suizhi said he wanted to see snow. His second brother, who had smashed his art exhibition, searched high and low for a master artist to restore his paintings.
All they wanted was for him to look at them again.
Sheng Zhuoye, the youngest child of the Sheng family of the capital, had been brilliant since childhood. Less than half a year after graduating, he had outshone his older siblings and become the next head of the Sheng family.
But none of that mattered. What mattered was that, in the original novel, he was the young master Jiang's white moonlight.
Jiang Suizhi had little interest in getting revenge on those people, but he was very interested in this Sheng family heir.
White moonlight? He wanted to see just how hard this one was to win over.
But at their first meeting, before he could even get out the words he'd prepared, the man across from him asked:
"This may be a little presumptuous for a first meeting, but, Mr. Jiang, would you marry me?"
Jiang Suizhi: ?
What?
Sheng Zhuoye first noticed the poor little thing from the Jiang family on a rainy night.
With a drawing board on his back, Jiang Suizhi picked up the paintbrushes and paints scattered across the ground. The Jiang family had just thrown them out.
Sitting in his car, Sheng Zhuoye watched Jiang Suizhi get soaked in the rain and sent his butler to help him. He didn't even know where this inexplicable act of kindness had come from.
After gathering everything, Jiang Suizhi glanced at Sheng Zhuoye's car, found a spot out of the rain, and pulled out the few sheets of paper that hadn't gotten wet. He hastily sketched a few lines in pencil.
Then he ran to the car with his drawing board over his head and knocked. Sheng Zhuoye lowered the window a little, and Jiang Suizhi slipped the drawing through the gap.
His voice was lost in the sound of the rain. "Thank you, sir. I hope you have a happy day."
After the boy had run off, Sheng Zhuoye glanced at the paper. It was a portrait of his profile, with a line written beside it: "Sir, Smile~"
That was where it all began.
[Hey! Look here!]
1. Everyone is reborn, and the groveling redemption arc is in full swing. The one everyone hated becomes everyone's favorite.
2. None of them are good people, including the gong. The shou is the only good person in the entire story.
3. Older gong, eight years older than the shou.
4. That's about it for now. I'll add more if I think of anything.
5. Hope you all enjoy the story~
