My Wife Ran Away, and Only Then Did I Learn to Chase Her [Vampires]

An accident leads Xue Shi into a misty illusion, where he awakens a powerful vampire who has been sleeping there.

Yin Xu, the oldest and most powerful Progenitor vampire still in existence.

Pale and handsome, elegant and mysterious, he possesses absolute power over all other vampires, yet bears an eternal curse with no solution.

He was born without the ability to love.

He cannot form a bond with anyone and is destined to spend his long life in solitude.

Yet Xue Shi can't help falling for this unusual man.

He willingly submits to him and follows at his side.

An innocent little beauty with an overactive imagination, he always thinks he must be special, that he can break the curse and change Yin Xu.

Until one day, he accidentally overhears Yin Xu talking with a friend.

"Have you really fallen for that human boy?"

"Can he really break your curse?"

Yin Xu leans back on the sofa, relaxed and languid. His thin lips part, and a few faint, mocking laughs escape.

"He's just a way to pass the time."

"How could I ever fall in love with a human?"

To a vampire's long, tedious life, one human lifespan is over in the blink of an eye.

All the color drains from Xue Shi's face.

Only then does he understand that his infatuation and ardor have been nothing but a ridiculous, pointless farce.

*Probably an old-school melodramatic novel (?)
