Also known as: The Little Tadpole Looks for His Dad (Not!)
After graduating from college, penniless Li Xiao took over the coffin shop his late father had never allowed him to visit.
On his first night there, he had a terrifying dream. Hideous ghosts filled the sky and rushed at him. A flash of golden light appeared before his eyes, and Li Xiao woke up.
The same thing happened for several days in a row, and Li Xiao couldn't help suspecting that something was wrong with the shop.
Then one day, he received a letter from his deceased father. With questions weighing on his mind, Li Xiao set out to find the answers.
Story One: Choosing a Wife
In Baitou Town, there was a custom: when a man turned eighteen, he had to choose a wife for himself. She had to be a virgin who had never been chosen by anyone else, or he would die.
After making his choice, everything would go smoothly, and he would live in peace and safety.
But there were fewer and fewer women in town, so the mayor decided...
Li Xiao followed the letter to this remote town. Looking at the handsome young man before him, who had shown him the way and claimed to be a local, Li Xiao gave an uncanny smile. "Big Brother, would you be my wife?"
Story Two: Old Secrets
Someone claiming to have been his father's friend emailed Li Xiao, saying he was gravely ill and had little time left. He wanted to see Li Xiao before he died, and had an old story about his father to tell him.
Li Xiao found it strange, but after some hesitation, he set off for the old mansion.
Who could have guessed that in the end...
"Xiao Xiao, I've liked you ever since you were little, and I still do."
Story Three: The Young Master
The richest family in the land had a foolish young master who was coddled and carefully watched over. What outsiders didn't know was that the young master liked eating raw meat.
While doing business for a wealthy family, Li Xiao accidentally ran into a young master who had escaped outside. The young master grabbed Li Xiao by the wrist and brought his nose close to Li Xiao's neck to sniff him. Foolish and mad, he gnawed at Li Xiao and muttered, "Fragrant... So fragrant... You smell so good..."
Story Four: The Doll
Among the things Li Xiao kept in his display cabinet was a delicate, beautiful doll, one his father had made for him himself.
But lately, it seemed to have come to life...
Story Five: The Ancient Tomb
At the invitation of several archaeologists, Li Xiao joined them on an expedition to an ancient tomb. But inside, he suddenly discovered traces of his father...
"Run! Hurry!"
Countless strange, terrifying serpents pursued them relentlessly. A monster with a human body and a snake's tail seized its chance and dragged Li Xiao, who was bringing up the rear, into its lair.
More stories to come...
(PS: The stories may be rearranged. Also, the two male leads are not actually father and son, and they aren't on the same household register!)
