And so, with the bizarre running rampant, I went from being an ordinary person to a useless tagalong holding the superheroes back, a good-for-nothing ordinary person with nothing going for me except a handsome face.
That day, the man of the evil god said to be the superheroes' nightmare appeared. My friends, who had rushed to stand between us, froze on the spot. The evil god's eyes reddened with moisture as he drew closer to me, his eight tentacles slipping beneath my hoodie. A tingling sensation overwhelmed me.
The next moment, the evil god leaned down and gently caught my earlobe between his teeth. His voice was bewitching as he whispered:
“Master.”
A hundred years ago, in the final battle, the leaders of every race besieged the evil god's palace and finally won, sealing him away. But the world collapsed as a result. According to legend, the leaders exhausted their mental energy to rebuild a new world without any supernatural abilities, then went into hiding there as its guardians.
Who could have known that barely a century later, the evil god would stir, and the bizarre sealed away throughout the world would reappear, with every one of them targeting the same seemingly ordinary “friend.”
