Fake stepsiblings | Reunited after a breakup | Reunited from the very first chapter
Morally upright, fragile older sister x two-faced, falsely virtuous, cold-hearted younger woman
Sister-obsessed x sister-addicted
-- Blurb --
They met again years later.
At a flower shop on a street corner, Ji Langyu was picking out flowers with a young woman.
The girl was sweet and pretty. She held Ji Langyu's arm and affectionately called her "Yuyu."
Ji Langyu smiled warmly and carefully straightened the girl's shawl before handing her a bouquet of lover's roses.
Ji Langyu had grown up. She had gone from being withdrawn to being talkative, and she often had a smile on her face.
Now a university lecturer, she wore a shirt, her hair long, and glasses and a watch. Her elegant, gentle bearing made her look completely different from the girl she'd been as a child.
Chen Yingxin sincerely offered her congratulations. "I'm happy to see you're living well."
Ji Langyu smiled and thanked her, then gently introduced the girl behind her. They'd met through their parents. They came from similar backgrounds and got along well. Even though they saw each other every day, they always had plenty to talk about...
Most importantly, Ji Langyu was a few years older than her. "I get to be the older sister with her, too."
Chen Yingxin smiled.
At twenty-eight, Ji Langyu was grown up, and her younger sister was about to get married.
Chen Yingxin looked up the wedding procedures and carefully prepared two red envelopes, one for Ji Langyu and one for her fiancee. She planned to attend their wedding as the older sister.
That night, she fell into a deep sleep against the sofa. Suddenly, an ambiguous text from an unknown contact lit up her phone:
"Big sis, I really want to do it with you..."
-
When Chen Yingxin was thirteen, disaster struck her family, and she became an orphan overnight. The Ji couple, who had been friends with her late parents, kindly took her in.
At thirteen, Chen Yingxin gained a younger sister, a year younger than her: a delicate, beautiful girl who seemed to be made of snow.
Ji Langyu was quiet and withdrawn. She barely even spoke to her own parents.
Chen Yingxin assumed she wouldn't be welcome. But on the very first day she officially moved in, Ji Langyu came over of her own accord with a cake, her eyes curved in a smile as she sweetly called her, "Big sis."
It was only much later that Ji Langyu told her that her adoptive parents had actually nudged her into doing it. She didn't want her parents to get angry and ruin the holidays, so she'd pretended to be nice and brought Chen Yingxin a piece of cake.
"That cake was awful, anyway, so you did me a favor by finishing it," Ji Langyu said mockingly. "Chen Yingxin, you're so naive. Did you really think I'd treat you like my sister?"
Chen Yingxin didn't get angry when she heard that. She simply straightened the test paper in front of Ji Langyu and said patiently, "Yuyu, if your grades don't improve on the next monthly exam, I won't sleep with you at night anymore."
Ji Langyu calmly said, "Oh," picked up her pen, and looked at the test paper. "Which questions did I get wrong?"
-
Chen Yingxin loved Ji Langyu deeply, with the love of an older sister, a family member, and a friend.
Ji Langyu felt the exact opposite.
Other than that first meeting when they were young, Ji Langyu never called Chen Yingxin "Big sis." But on that hot, stuffy afternoon, she clung to Chen Yingxin, who was about to abandon her, and begged her over and over until her throat was hoarse.
Big sis, please don't go.
Or take me with you.
-
Chen Yingxin, is this the life you wanted?
Are you really doing well without me by your side?
Reader's guide:
1. Switch, one-on-one, both virgins, happy ending. A slice-of-life story that seems a little angsty but is actually a sweet little romance.
2. Mutual pining, but one is more proactive because of her personality. They reunite in the opening. The wedding in the blurb is a misunderstanding, just one of Little Ji's ways of manipulating her big sister.
3. Everything serves the author's imagination, and the professional details are extremely limited, so please don't overanalyze them.
