I Won't Let My Husband Cheat on Me (My Husband)

The village's most hot-tempered and fierce young man lived at the eastern end, and no one dared cross him.

At the western end lived a bookish young man with a handsome face and a timid nature, easy to bully.

No one expected these two to become a couple.

They had only just begun discussing marriage when the young man grabbed a stick and went door to door demanding things back.

"You took a whole plot of land from my husband's family. Give it back, right now."

"Two years ago, you borrowed twenty eggs from my husband's family. With interest, that's thirty. Hand them over."

The bookish young man hurried over at the commotion, his face bright red with embarrassment. He tugged at the young man's sleeve and pleaded softly.

The young man said briskly, "Don't worry about it. I'll run the household from now on. Let's see who dares take even a single scallion from us."

The people of Taohua Village: ... Oh dear, how will the bookish fellow and his meek mother manage?

--

When Fusheng was thinking about getting married, he dreamed one night that the bookish young man became a licentiate and married a young man from town.

That fellow bullied him, and both children he bore were fathered by someone else, leaving the bookish young man to raise another man's children for nothing.

After waking, Fusheng turned it over in his mind. It had to be Heaven's hint, telling him to save the bookish young man.

So the very next day, he knocked on the bookish young man's door and told him to get ready. They would marry in three days.

On their wedding night, the bookish young man clutched the quilt and kept retreating toward the corner of the bed. Fusheng patted his belly. "Don't worry. There's no baby in my belly, so I won't make you raise another man's child."

The bookish young man stared at that belly in horror. So that was it. The whole forced-marriage business suddenly made sense. He was going to become a father without even knowing it.

Later, the bookish young man passed the licentiate and provincial exams. People asked Fusheng if he ever felt inferior.

Fusheng pointed to the children in the courtyard. "Why would I feel inferior? I'm not making him raise another man's children."
