Daily Life Running a Taoist Temple in a World of Ghosts

[The main story is complete.] Zhou Yi was meditating on a mountain on an ordinary Monday. When he opened his eyes, he had arrived in an unfamiliar time and place. Mountains, thick fog, hunters. The mountain was unfamiliar, the fog was strange, and the people were from ancient times. Unable to make glass or soap, and with no exceptional cooking skills, Zhou Yi had no choice but to take over a Taoist temple on the verge of ruin. The good news was that Taoist priests here didn't have to pay taxes or serve in the military. They could collect offerings, farm the land, and play with the young acolytes every day. Life was carefree and easy. The bad news was that Taoist priests weren't popular here, so offerings were scarce. Unless he earned more money, the temple really would go under! The even worse news was that ghosts and monsters actually existed in this world! An old man from the neighboring village came to visit with his wailing grandson on his back. That night, a ghost appeared... A monster was causing trouble in the city... A traveler was plagued by nightmares... Ghosts, demons, evil spirits, and jiangshi appeared one after another before Zhou Yi. Since lying flat was no longer an option, he had no choice but to work hard at cultivating. Cultivate the golden elixir within, temper the sinews, bones, and skin without. When the spirit is concentrated and qi is full, naturally no ghost can harm you! My next book will be a similar story, Days of Being a Weasel Immortal in a World of Ghosts and Monsters. Please add it to your favorites! Blurb: They say if you slaughtered pigs in your past life, you'll be a teacher in this one. Xu Zhi had no idea what she had done wrong in her past life. She'd only been an ordinary office drone, yet in this life she couldn't even be human. She'd really become livestock! She had become a weasel, also known as a yellow weasel, and a half-dead one at that, beaten up by a cat. They were about the same size. If a wild animal couldn't beat a house pet, it was useless, as far as Xu Zhi was concerned. Now she was the useless one. To stay alive, she found herself a free meal ticket: a little farm girl who would apply medicine to her wounds, prepare her meals, and even bathe her. As expected, no matter where they live, animals have it best when they stay with people. Xu Zhi planned to lie flat and become a pampered little weasel, living off humans until the end of her days. But as time passed, the girl set up a memorial tablet for her and began worshipping her. Gradually, Xu Zhi felt as if something had been added to her body... Incense, cultivation, and people calling her an immortal... Only then did Xu Zhi realize that she had become a Weasel Immortal! Theme: Fate is shaped by karma, and karma is born from the heart.
