The Blind Boy Everyone Hated Strikes It Rich [The 1990s]

Nan Yang was a little blind girl, abandoned at birth.

After a difficult childhood, she reached adulthood. Then her biological parents brought her back to care for them because their son refused to support them in their old age.

After her parents died, her heartless relatives tried to marry Nan Yang off to a fifty-year-old, one-legged man for the bride price.

At last, she managed to get out of the marriage and secure a plot of land in the village to build an inn. But then she was swindled: she’d only planned to borrow enough money to build ten rooms, but the contract was written for a hundred.

The villagers of Fenghuang Village clicked their tongues as they munched on sunflower seeds.

“Nan Yang’s life is just too hard.”

“How many outsiders come to Fenghuang Village? She’ll never repay that much debt, even if she sells herself.”

“What’s a blind person doing trying to start a business? She should’ve just gotten married.”

“…”

No one expected that, in the second month after Nan Yang’s inn was completed, Fenghuang Village would be slated for demolition!

The inn was worth a hundred apartments plus a million in cash.

Nan Yang: Well, would you look at that.

Everyone else: !!!

Chen Tingchuan was so much of a playboy that his father sent him to Fenghuang Village to oversee a new project.

On his first day in the village, Chen Tingchuan saw a few hooligans bullying a little blind girl, beating the flowers growing peacefully in her courtyard to pieces.

Could someone really be worse than him?

Furious, Chen Tingchuan stepped in and beat the hooligans until they were crying for their mothers.

Later, while trimming his new bride’s nails, Chen Tingchuan brought it up again, still indignant. “How could you invite those guys to the wedding? Did you forget how they bullied you?”

Nan Yang: “Actually, I was the one who asked them to come smash the flowers. I’m allergic to the pollen.”

Chen Tingchuan looked up sharply. “Why didn’t you say so back then?”

The little blind girl said nothing, only gazing at him with a smile.

Chen Tingchuan suddenly realized that he’d thought he’d hunted down a little white rabbit, but it turned out she was the real hunter.

Tsk. So there really was someone worse than him.

Theme: Just be yourself.
