The Overseer Seeks Retirement by Judging Teyvat

You Miao, the most diligent God-Seer in the universe, was tasked with eliminating gods who broke the rules. At last, he had reached his final assignment before retirement.

But the leadership of the God-Seer department had no decency. To squeeze every last bit of value out of him, they gave him an ultra-high-level assignment: investigate the gods of the Genshin Impact world.

But a malfunctioning shuttle sent him to the Genshin Impact world a thousand years in the past.

You Miao: Well, that works. Some gods' intentions show even when they're young.

You Miao: No wonder this is an ultra-high-level world. There are over a hundred gods.

After finally waiting for the Heavenly Dao to select seven gods, he got ready to start his work.

You Miao: Seven is a decent number, not too many or too few. Time to work!

You Miao: I haven't even done anything yet. How come there are only two gods left alive?

With divine seats changing hands and rule in turmoil, only one subject of his investigation remained alive and conscious. You Miao had no choice but to learn about these second-generation gods all over again. He had to change his approach and go down to the grassroots, observing the Archons from the perspective of ordinary people.

Many years later

The Anemo Archon awoke, and You Miao hurried to him, only to find him busking. The moment he saw You Miao, he kept going, "Ehe! Ehe!"

He went to Liyue, where the only Geo Archon to remain conscious through a thousand years suddenly died. A sealed Archon emerged, and just as You Miao was getting a headache, he turned around and spotted the Archon himself drinking tea and listening to a scholar cry, "Do you know the Geo Archon better, or do I?"

He went to Sumeru, where the gods had vanished without a trace. His investigation revealed that the Dendro Archon was under house arrest while the people of Sumeru were making a god of their own.

The second-generation Electro Archon of Inazuma seemed to have been deceived by her people. The identity of Fontaine's god seemed questionable. Natlan's god was actually human. And the god of Snezhnaya had even sent the Fatui to seize the Gnoses.

You Miao: No wonder this is an ultra-high-level assignment! Maybe the department just doesn't want me to retire?

After nearly a thousand years of stumbling through the Genshin Impact world, You Miao suddenly realized that the god he was meant to judge was someone else, not one of the Seven Archons. You Miao's vision went black, and everything began again.

You Miao: I agreed to come back as a retiree. You don't have to torture me like this!
