Back to the Seventies: At Last, I've Found You

Zhao Wan is quiet and beautiful, but stubborn to a fault.

Once she sets her mind on something, nothing can make her turn back unless she comes to her senses herself.

This is clearest in her marriage.

In 1974, eighteen-year-old Zhao Wan fell for Tang Jiajun, a handsome educated youth from her village.

They married as a matter of course and had a lovely daughter.

When universities reopened in 1977, Zhao Wan, who had devoted herself to being a housewife, saw her husband off as he left to attend B University.

They agreed that in three years he would bring her and their daughter to the city to enjoy a better life.

But in the second year, she lost all contact with him.

After several fruitless attempts to find him, Zhao Wan ignored the advice of family and friends, renewed her promise to wait, and waited through five full three-year periods.

At last, at thirty-seven, the year her daughter entered university, she came to her senses.

But fate was cruel. She had only three months left to live, in the final stage of her illness.

What Zhao Wan never expected was that at the very moment she closed her eyes, in the fifteenth year she had spent waiting, her husband's soul appeared in the form of his younger self.

As it turned out, back in the summer of 1978, Tang Jiajun had secretly headed south alone, hoping to make enough money to bring his wife and daughter to the capital early. But he died in a car accident.

Trading on the black market was not respectable in those days, so Tang Jiajun dared not carry anything that could reveal his identity. From then on, he was listed as a missing person.

Yet his soul was drawn back to his wife by the longing in his heart, and stayed by her side for more than a decade.

Just as Zhao Wan thought they were about to become ghost spouses, she opened her eyes again and found herself back in May 1978.

Her husband was going to die in just over two months.

With nothing else on her mind, Zhao Wan, eyes red, grabbed her daughter and their money and ration coupons, then raced to the capital.

She was going to give that rotten man Tang Jiajun a good slap.

How dare he be so reckless!

Disclaimer: This story is set in a fictional world, very fictional indeed. The story is entirely made up, so please don't look for historical accuracy. Thank you!

The female lead is a delicate beauty (in appearance only). This is not a story about a strong female lead. It's a lighthearted wish-fulfillment romance, sweet and domestic, with a somewhat ensemble cast and a secondary couple!
