I Heard I'm the Foil in a 1960S Story

In a story set in a bygone era. There are always all kinds of beautiful women, from performing-arts troupe members, nurses, and doctors to the daughters of high-ranking officials, who chase after the outstanding male lead, all on their own. Unfortunately, his heart is made of iron. Before he meets his one true love, the male lead is either icy cold or cool and aloof. His heart is set on his career. Women? He wouldn't give them a second glance. Once his true love appears, the neighbors even tell the heroine that she's the only one he truly loves. So many outstanding women had chased after him before, and even when the daughter of a high-ranking official showed interest, he hadn't so much as reacted. Xu Nanyi was born into this era and has now awakened the memories of her previous life. The very night her father mentioned setting her up with one of his subordinates... She realized she was the rich-girl cannon fodder in an era novel. She was also the foil who would be thoroughly outshone by the gentle, kind-hearted heroine, squandering a winning hand until it was in ruins. Xu Nanyi was completely numb. She's a rich young lady with family connections, good looks, and talent! Why should she be disliked so much? Find me someone else! Right now! Wouldn't the newly transferred political commissar, who smiles at everyone, make a better husband than that human ice cube? The political commissar, who's had a crush on her for years and looks kind but is ruthless inside... Well, as it happens, he thinks so too. Warnings: This story is set in an entirely fictional world, very loosely inspired by reality. The story is pure fiction, so please don't overanalyze it. Thank you! The heroine is a great beauty! Not a strong female lead. A no-brainer feel-good story, sweet romance, everyday life, and a somewhat ensemble cast! Blurb is tentative! Screenshots have been posted on Weibo! Theme: As long as you work hard, life will become more and more exciting.
