Substitute Fate in the 1950s

Winter, 1948. Dapingchuan Village.

Jin Baoyin, who had been in the womb for nine years, was sold by her parents for one shi (150 jin) of barley.

She was sold to the Zhou family, who ran a cart inn in the county. They say Miss Zhou is frail and won't make it through this winter.

A fortune-teller showed them a way out: find a poor girl born on the same day, month, and year to take the calamity in her place.

Of course, the Zhou family cared about appearances.

In public, Jin Baoyin was their adopted daughter!

Warnings: This story is set in an alternate world, and a very loosely imagined one at that. The story is entirely fictional. Please don't overanalyze it, thank you!

An unconventional strong female lead, everyday life, and a somewhat large cast!

Blurb subject to change! A screenshot has been posted on Weibo!
