Coming soon next door: The 1970s Side Character Refuses to Be a Foil
He Yu is a ginseng spirit who has lived for several hundred years. After taking human form, she becomes a pretty, airheaded young woman, innocent and carefree.
One day, an accident sends her to the 1980s. Before she can even learn from her elders, she finds herself utterly unprepared for the world.
Someone sets her up, and she accidentally marries Wen Chen, the second son of the Wen family, a good-for-nothing who spends his days loafing around. A month after the wedding, the Wen family sends Wen Chen off to the army. Then comes the news of his death.
He Yu gives birth to a son, but she can barely support herself, let alone raise a child.
Still, she works hard to grow and earn money, determined to give the little one the best.
Wen Ze is reborn.
In his previous life, a car accident left him with only a breath of life. His mother revealed her true form and forcibly snapped off the tip of her ginseng root to save him.
Only then did he learn that his mother was a ginseng plant.
That ginseng tip kept him alive, but he lay in a hospital bed for decades.
Unfortunately, the Wen family saw his mother when she took her true form. They tricked her into revealing herself, then took her away and gave her to someone else.
As for Wen Ze, while he was in that hospital bed, the Wen family discovered that his blood had miraculous effects because he was her child. They locked him up at home and turned him into a blood-producing machine.
Wen Ze swears that, as the only man in the family, he will protect his mother this time around.
Life is getting better and better. His mother grows prettier by the day, and those despicable people get what they deserve.
But who is this strange man outside the door?
He even dares to pretend he's Wen Ze's father, whose grave has grass ten meters tall. The nerve!
"Get lost, old man! My mom isn't blind!"
"Stay away from my mom! Don't get in the way of me finding a handsome, rich, young dad!"
After enduring countless hardships to return home, Wen Chen imagines that tonight he'll finally get to hold his soft, fragrant wife as they sleep.
But the next second, he's turned away at the door and can't even get inside. He stares in disbelief. "Baby, don't you love me anymore?"
He Yu furrows her delicate brows. "I don't. Go away. I'm going to rest."
Wen Chen looks as though he's been struck by lightning. He flutters his clothes open like a peacock, revealing glimpses of his abs. "I don't believe it! Baby, didn't you say I was your favorite?"
He Yu sneaks another glance, then calmly explains, "That was then. This is now. I'm not into this type anymore."
Wen Chen: "I don't believe it."

Synopsis:
Chen Chuntao, a paper-thin character and a mere tool, awakens.
She was originally a side character in a period novel, written as a foil to the heroine.
She was lazy, spoiled, and overbearing, while the heroine was hardworking, clever, and considerate.
Even their husbands were starkly different.
Greedy for comfort and money, she schemed to marry Wen Ye, the younger son of the director of the county machinery factory. Wen Ye had a bad reputation and, like the original character, did nothing but laze around and expect others to wait on him. He had no job and relied entirely on his family. One day, he died while saving a child who had fallen into the water. The original character became a young widow, but unable to bear the loneliness, she got involved with someone else. In the end, her affair was exposed, and she was kicked out of the family home. No one knew what became of her.
Meanwhile, the heroine followed her parents' wishes and married the male lead, the first person in the village to build a house with gray bricks and tiled roofing. The young couple worked together, their love growing stronger as they gradually left the village and the county behind. In the end, they settled in a big city, never forgetting to give back to the villagers.
The two girls were from the same village, yet their lives turned out so differently that everyone couldn't help but sigh.
Remembering the story made Chen Chuntao furious. She opened her eyes, saw the man beside her still sprawled in bed though the sun was already high, and kicked him.
Wen Ye wasn't expecting it and tumbled to the floor. He groggily got up, not even angry, climbed back into bed, put his arms around her, and kissed her twice. "What are you doing, honey?"
Chen Chuntao slapped his hand away. "Why are you still in bed? Get up!"
Wen Ye woke up a little more. "Are you hungry, honey? I'll get you something to eat."
Chen Chuntao: "...Fine. I am a little hungry."
Wen Ye thinks Chen Chuntao has been acting strange lately. Sometimes she tells him to go find a job, then goes out herself and gets sunburned. Other times she wants to take the college entrance exam and drags him into studying and memorizing books on a beautiful evening...
Are evenings really for reading and studying?!!!
There's nothing he can do. A wife is meant to be cherished, so he'll go along with whatever she wants.
Who knew that one day he'd hear her mention a man's name and go on and on about how wonderful he was? (As for the heroine's name, which she mentioned too, he chose to go selectively deaf.)
Wen Ye: No man could put up with this.
From then on, he works hard to improve himself, working by day and studying at night.
Father Wen: My son has grown up.
Mother Wen: Xiao Ye has really made something of himself.
Wen Ye's older brother, constantly disturbed by the sound of him studying: These two are nuts. Hurry up, get into college, and get out of here.
Theme: Happiness is eating and drinking together as a family.
So he was killed in his previous life?
Why doesn't Zai let the heroine read the letter?
Isn't that people's capital money? 5. Shouldn't there have been criticism and struggle in the 1960s?
It turns out that Laoban has a husband, but poor Uncle Liu is still single hahahahaha
Why is it gone? Please update it a lot.
Why haven't you updated it? It's been a long time since I updated it.
Isn't it updated? ( °?????????°????????? )
By the way, when are they usually updated?
