Coming soon next door: The Beloved Little Scapegoat of the 1970s
Blurb:
A heroine who only wants to lie flat and do nothing, but accidentally becomes a big shot × a strong, low-key hero who helps his wife secure her position
Qiu Mianmian is the only daughter of the Qiu family. Her parents are wealthy, and she's got a decent head on her shoulders.
Her guiding principle since childhood: go with the flow, lie flat, and do nothing.
Then one day, she accidentally chokes to death while eating.
After dying, she transmigrates into the apocalypse novel she had been reading before she choked, becoming the cannon-fodder supporting female character whom the male lead repays for her kindness with betrayal.
A stepping-stone of a supporting character who was bitten by a zombie but remained conscious.
When the male lead is bitten by a zombie, she steps in just in time to save him. In return, he sends her to the base's research institute, where she is dissected alive.
The institute successfully develops a drug that suppresses the zombie virus. The male lead's reputation soars, and he becomes the savior of the apocalypse.
After Qiu Mianmian realizes she's a zombie, she discovers a whole host of perks: she doesn't feel pain, doesn't need to eat, and is incredibly strong.
So she starts to lie flat, leading her zombie underlings in a wonderful life.
Except...
There's this lousy System that keeps making her follow the plot every now and then. It's kind of annoying.
Qiu Mianmian is sitting at home, but her newly recruited zombie underling is so devoted that he brings her a muscular man who's on the verge of kicking the bucket as a gift.
Qiu Mianmian doesn't want him, but...
Her zombie underling isn't nearly as considerate as he is, sob!
A few months later, Qiu Mianmian cries as she tries to return him to the System: I said I didn't want him, but you insisted on making me take him.
The unfortunate System Xiao Ba: I only gave you a token word of advice...
The man kneels before her with his head bowed, soothing her softly: Mianmian, don't cry. I didn't do well enough, and I made you upset.
Qiu Mianmian: ...Stop talking. Get lost.

Coming-soon blurb: The Beloved Little Scapegoat of the 1970s
Su Xixi transmigrates into a book.
She becomes a minor cannon-fodder character who dies early in a period novel that has developed its own consciousness. She's nothing more than background decoration.
In this book, she's the Su family's lazy, fussy little sister.
Unfortunately, she's the late-born daughter of Old Madam Su and Old Man Su, with four brothers more than ten years older than her. She's also frail and sickly, so she's been spoiled rotten since childhood.
The heroine is Su Wu, the eldest daughter of her second brother. She's smart, sharp-minded, and an excellent student.
Her only flaw is that, like the original character, she can't see through people. She spends nearly ten years entangled with the two-faced male lead before finally deciding to divorce him.
Later on, she leads the Su family to a better life, and they all move to the city.
Su Xixi has only one task: help the Will of Heaven find a new male lead, so its precious daughter Su Wu won't have to suffer so much.
In the original story, this cannon-fodder character appears in just a few lines: A male classmate sweet-talks her into marrying him, and she stubbornly insists on going through with it. After she gets pregnant, her cruel mother-in-law torments her until both she and her baby die.
When she learns she is still with the Su family, Su Xi looks at her parents, who make her special meals, her brothers, whose eyes are full of concern for her, and her little nephews and nieces, who rush to do her chores for her:
With a life like this, all I have to do is lie flat and win!
Rong Yanchu is an educated youth sent down to a production brigade deep in the mountains. He's handsome and elegant, like a gentleman.
He's just cold and quiet, and his unfathomable black eyes can be a little intimidating.
Because of his tainted family background, the villagers and other educated youths are afraid of getting into trouble, so they keep their distance.
Rong Yanchu ignores their avoidance and gossip.
All he wants now is to live a simple life and avoid burdening his parents, who are caught in the middle of a political storm.
One day, a young girl he's seen a few times, wearing a pretty little dress, sneakily stops him. Her expression is serious and solemn:
"Hello, Rong Yanchu. I've been watching you for days. Things are pretty rough for you right now, but I think you're a good person. How about I do my best to help you, and you try being my male lead?"
Theme: Life is hard, so enjoy it while you can
The heroine is too holy, completely tool-like... She has no real self at all, and her logic is often inconsistent.
Hahaha, miserable male protagonist
