I Get Rich by Going Crazy and Checking In

A video asks: "If someone offered you 300,000 yuan to kneel down and knock your head against a stone bollard three times in the middle of the road, would you agree?"

Lin Deng's answer: "Of course! Don't just ask. Actually give me the money!"

After yet another furious rant at a short-video creator who asked questions without following through, dirt-poor Lin Deng transmigrated in the most cliched way possible.

The bad news: He'd transmigrated into a melodramatic danmei novel as the foil to its universally adored protagonist.

The good news: Everything in transmigration novels was real, and he'd been bound to a check-in System.

The bad news: The original host was just as broke as him.

The good news: The System would issue tasks, and if he successfully checked in in front of characters from the story, he could get money.

But this System seemed to have a serious manufacturing defect. Every task it issued was bizarre, including but not limited to:

Eating fried chicken upside down in front of the doctor side character who was infatuated with the protagonist;

Kneeling in front of the original novel's protagonist and kowtowing, saying, "Please, I'm begging you, leave me alone. I'll never walk the same path as you again";

Trying to sell insurance to thin air in front of the original host's older brother as he passed a supposedly haunted old mansion...

At first, Lin Deng refused.

He thought Earth was great, and he wasn't ready to flee to Mars out of sheer embarrassment.

System: Each successful check-in earns you 500,000 yuan. All funds come from legitimate sources, provided as gifts.

Lin Deng: "What embarrassment? This is high art! I will always love performance art!"

Theme: Sincerity is always the ultimate weapon.
