The Years I Spent Trying to Usurp the Throne and Become an Evil God

In the interstellar era, the Federation released a full-dive game called Sacrifice.

After logging in, players discovered that the game world was incredibly realistic. Once an NPC died, they never appeared again, and no one had ever encountered a repeat instance.

It had the feel of an old-school Western fantasy, and everything players learned in the game could be recreated in real life. The knowledge was all genuine and valid, enough to write a dozen research papers about.

Everyone was having an amazing time playing.

The only drawback had nothing to do with the game itself. There was a lunatic among the players.

Rumor had it that this player had somehow obtained the bloodline of an evil god. When normal, she was friendly enough, but when she lost control, her eyes turned bloodred, her silver hair flew wild, and she would laugh maniacally as she cut down anyone in sight.

So she was listed among the category of "the 11 legendary abyssal bosses who have never appeared," becoming the only one of them to show up: the 12th boss.

She became the first player ever to be classified as a boss.

Ning Yan had ended up playing some baffling game, and being posted on some baffling boss leaderboard made her feel a little insecure. She didn't tell anyone who she was in the game, in case they beat her up.

That was until, as she kept playing, every player became trapped in the game world. No one could return to the interstellar world.

All the players were wanted criminals. Everyone had been summoned as a sacrifice, and everything had been done to summon the great eleven deities of the abyss.

Only then did Ning Yan realize that she was the vessel chosen by the gods.

Her power over evil gods came from the evil god slowly descending into her body, until it eventually replaced Ning Yan entirely.

Ning Yan thought it over carefully and made a hypothesis. "What if, and I mean what if, I absorb all the evil god's power ahead of time and usurp its place as the evil god? Could I go home then?"
