The First Interstellar Zoo

(Anti-piracy protection is set to 70%)

Mu Ling lived on a rural planet and inherited a zoo from a great-aunt she’d never met.

In the interstellar age, alien beasts ran rampant. After the war beasts fought on the front lines against them, those left disabled or gravely injured, with nowhere else to go, were sent to zoos willing to take them in, where they could eke out their remaining days.

Looking at the old, frail, and disabled beasts filling her zoo, Mu Ling couldn’t even begin to imagine how much money she’d need to support this entire family!

To promote the zoo, Mu Ling created an account on the Star Network and posted photos of the little animals, hoping to attract more visitors.

Not long afterward, a video of the S-rank, high-risk retired war beast, a Rending Tiger, calmly letting someone trim its claws went viral on the Star Network!

Then more terrifying videos appeared.

An S-rank Blazing Leopard that didn’t react even when someone pulled its tail!

An S-rank Silver Snow Bear that didn’t resist as it was held down and bathed!

An S-rank Blackblood Wolf that carried its own pup over to the keeper to raise!

Netizens: “???? Is this science fiction?”

What? These S-rank retired war beasts, once majestic and vicious, had become even more hostile, unhinged, solitary, gloomy, and tyrannical after being injured. They’d even bitten their own masters. And now they were open to visitors?

No, no, no! Keeper, get a grip! Injured war beasts are mentally unstable and might snap and hurt people! Don’t joke around with visitors’ lives!

The first zoo in the entire interstellar realm that could soothe injured war beasts’ mental power, give them a place to grow old, and let them live happy lives had opened. The bigwigs at every Federation bureau couldn’t believe it, and they all came rushing over.

The entire research team from the Empire’s Military War Beast Division came for a team-building outing.

Professors and outstanding students from all five beast-taming academies came for a group field trip.

Officials from the Supply Center for Healing Beasts hurried over to learn.

The director of the Search-and-Rescue Beast Training Academy paid out of pocket to come work there.

Even the president and the first lady came in person for an inspection tour.

Mu Ling, making a fortune: “…I think I can open a branch zoo!”

P.S. The heroine has a hidden identity. There’s a reason fierce beasts like her.

------Upcoming novel "The Real Heiress Is the Interstellar Treasure", please add it to your collection--------

Ning Yin was a disabled beastman. Because she couldn’t fully transform into a beast, she’d been bullied in her tribe ever since she was little.

By chance, she transmigrated into the interstellar era and became the real heiress, framed by the fake heiress and sent to the Beast Sunset Grounds to die. The whole internet was livestreaming her apparent death.

Ning Yin didn’t know she was being livestreamed. She was just surprised that all the animals at the Beast Sunset Grounds were young beasts who couldn’t take human form. As an adult beastman, it was her duty to help the little ones transform!

-

The Beast Sunset Grounds were where ferocious beasts went to rest after awakening their ancestral genes.

Ever since a massive genetic decline began a hundred years ago, a small number of people in the interstellar realm had suddenly started awakening their ancestral genes. The more capable a person was, the more likely they were to revert to their ancestral form. They would slowly devolve from perfectly ordinary people into animals driven only by instinct, feeding on raw flesh and blood. They would no longer recognize their family or lovers, and would become savage, bloodthirsty, and utterly devoid of humanity.

To provide for them, the Federation had no choice but to confine these once-admired geniuses to the Beast Sunset Grounds, where they could spend the final part of their lives. After all, when their reversion rate reached 100%, they would die.

The Beast Sunset Grounds livestreamed around the clock, with thousands of hidden cameras installed throughout the facility so Federation citizens could check on their loved ones at any time.

One day, an intern arrived at the grounds. Her job was supposed to be feeding the wild beasts at designated locations, but then…

She grabbed the youngest son of the Empire’s marshal by the hind leg, pinned the swift and fierce Skyshaking Wolf to the ground, and forcibly rubbed its belly.

Livestream viewers: “?”

The marshal and his wife: “???”

She broke up a fight between the First Army’s general and the Second Army’s general, then dragged a snarling Cloudborn Leopard and Golden Claw Leopard, one in each hand, back to her staff break room and insisted on treating their wounds.

Livestream viewers: “?”

All the soldiers of the First and Second Armies: “???”

After that, she rescued a Thunderbear being chased by bees, pulled an Ice Dove Tiger out of a swamp, cuddled a fluffy Giant Gale Lion to warm up her bed, and even enslaved a Steelhoof Elephant, which could crush her with a single stomp, into helping her water the flowers…

In just one month, she’d gotten her hands on every animal at the Beast Sunset Grounds. Viewers across the internet thought it was utterly absurd. But then… things got even more absurd…

Ning Yin: “All right, stop playing. You’re all big kids now. Big Sis is going to teach you how to transform.”

When Ning Yin actually taught the Skyshaking Wolf to turn back into the marshal’s youngest son, the viewers’ brains fried, and the whole internet exploded!

#Turns out you don’t die when your reversion rate hits 100%. With the right method, you can turn back into a human and switch between human and beast forms from then on#

#Who exactly is Ning Yin#

#Whoever she is, the Federation can’t do without her#

#Ning Yin: The one and only interstellar treasure#

P.S. The heroine sees the animals can’t transform and assumes they’re all juveniles around two or three years old. In the beastman world, beasts of that age look around eleven or twelve in human form, so in her eyes they’re all little ones. In reality, they’re adults.

P.P.S. Before fully transforming into humans, the beasts are guided only by animal instincts. They can understand things a little, but don’t think like humans. They gain human thought only after transforming.

P.P.P.S. A fluffy-animal petting story with a healing vibe.
