When an Old Cynic Tries to Change

A shou who doesn't realize he's being sarcastic x a gong who can read the shou like a book, but has recently lost his touch

Yu Siqi is a well-known sharp-tongued commentator on Z Station. His livestreams are all about being sarcastic, and his fans often tell him to tone it down because he's too snarky.

Yu Siqi's response: That's just how I talk. I can't change it.

And it's true. Yu Siqi also has no intention of trying to change. After all, he has a loving, harmonious family, even if they're a little sarcastic; a boyfriend who loves and understands him; and a well-paid job.

Everything seems so perfect. Why change anything?

Until one day, Yu Siqi realizes that something has been off with his boyfriend, Liang Xiao.

He can put up with Liang going on more business trips, but when he's not away, he comes home later and later, then crashes straight into bed. Sometimes he comes home at a normal hour, but disappears into his study and doesn't come out until bedtime.

Yu Siqi didn't think much of it at first, but even the viewers in his livestream began noticing that something was wrong with Liang Xiao.

Yu Siqi's haters say it's definitely because he's too sarcastic and Liang Xiao is sick of him!

Usually, Yu Siqi wouldn't care what those haters say. But this time, he counts on his fingers and realizes that he and Liang Xiao have been together for seven years.

Yu Siqi: !!! Is this the seven-year itch?!

To win Liang Xiao back, Yu Siqi starts learning how to be a gentle and considerate partner.

A gentle partner should learn to give their other half compliments.

So when Liang Xiao makes late-night snacks, Yu Siqi takes a big bite. "This is really delicious, sir. How did you make it?"

Liang Xiao: ???

A considerate partner should give their other half space while making it clear that they're still on their mind.

So while Liang Xiao works in the study, Yu Siqi opens the door. "Oh, you're still working? Take your time. No one's rushing you."

Liang Xiao: !!!

Liang Xiao: My company has just had some problems, so I've been working late and going on a few more business trips. How did my husband change into this person without me noticing?

Theme: Be yourself, and the people who love you will love you for it
