Professor, I'm Your New Colleague

Short blurb:

A new professor joins Hogwarts at the start of the new school year, teaching Herbology.

The new professor is a quintessentially Eastern beauty: stunning, powerful, gentle, and mysterious. The moment she appears, the whole school, staff and students alike, are madly pursuing her.

Only Snape dislikes his new colleague.

At their first meeting, the new colleague politely held out a hand and greeted him.

"Hello, Professor Snape. I'm your new colleague."

The thin man in the black cloak stopped two paces away, radiating an icy aura that warned everyone to stay away or die.

The next moment, he strode past without expression, haughty and cold.

"Slytherins never shake hands with people from Gryffindor."

The new professor turned around in surprise, only to see the wide cloak trailing to the ground flutter away, rolling into black waves that seemed to carry a chill.

I've drawn an illustration of the protagonist's ancient-era design, along with some caption art. Check my Weibo profile for details.

This story is made up of 25% movie characterizations and plot, 25% original novel text, and 50% original ancient-era plot and an original male lead.

Some readers may find the novel references and movie dialogue familiar. That's normal. I wanted to stay as close to the original as possible, so I used quite a lot of lines from the books and scenes from the movies.

The full story was completed on September 28, 2024. The main text has 45 chapters, plus two extra chapters and five illustrations.

The first is an ancient-era master-and-disciple storyline: an empty-nest master waits every night for his disciple to come home late, but an unexpected incident occurs that he doesn't know about. It ends in five chapters.

The second is a modern master-and-disciple storyline: two or three stories about Xilou raising a child after deciding not to become a professor. It runs for three chapters.

Theme: If we really expect a young boy to save the world, does that mean the world is still worth saving?
