A Passionate Midsummer

Word spread across No. 1 High School that its heartthrob, Sheng Qinghuai, might have gotten a girlfriend. The news sent the hearts of everyone who openly or secretly had a crush on him crashing to the floor.

Yet the first person to notice was Chen Sui, a girl who had no connection to him at all.

No one knew that the girl sitting at the very edge of the classroom kept a notebook under her desk that nobody had ever seen.

It was full of Sheng Qinghuai's daily movements.

His interests, his habits, his routes.

But Chen Sui knew there was an insurmountable gap between her and a genius like Sheng Qinghuai. She was careful not to cross the line, and would never bother him.

It was simply her own little pastime in an otherwise boring high school life.

Until one day, the notebook disappeared.

After searching her desk from top to bottom and failing to find it, Chen Sui panicked.

But before she could figure out how to distance herself from the notebook, it suddenly reappeared under her desk the next day.

Chen Sui breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe she'd just missed it yesterday.

Still, now that Sheng Qinghuai had a girlfriend, she couldn't keep doing this.

She should find someone else, or some other way to pass the time.

But just as she was about to destroy the notebook, Chen Sui was shocked to discover that the line saying Sheng Qinghuai “had dinner with his girlfriend” had been crossed out.

Beneath it was a new line in small writing: It was a club meeting. He doesn't have a girlfriend.

* “She seems to like me. What does that mean? Does she actually like me? Forget it, I'll make the first move.”: a seemingly innocent but secretly calculating male lead

[Bonus scene]

Sheng Qinghuai happened upon a notebook whose entries were practically a record of his daily life.

Flipping a few pages further, he found that the notebook, which had been full of notes about him, suddenly had someone else's name in it.

When he learned that Chen Sui's interest in him had apparently just been a passing whim and that she might have moved on to someone else, he finally couldn't hold back. He stepped forward and blocked her path.
