The Whole World Wants Me to Go on Strike

As the eldest daughter of the Atobe family, Kogaya Rei is wealthy, talented in both the arts and martial pursuits, and has one hobby that nobody can understand. She actually likes... working part-time jobs?

Kogaya Rei: "I'm not going to live off my parents. Never in this life. Every day at work brings something new, and there are so many corpses... Wait, what? Corpses!"

On her Nth day of part-time work, Kogaya Rei was selling balloons when one suddenly burst, scattering threatening letters everywhere.

Crowd: !!!

Little Grim Reaper Detective: "You're here for another part-time job, aren't you?"

Kogaya Rei: "How did you know???"

On her Oth day of part-time work, Kogaya Rei learned her lesson and started making sushi. The manager dropped dead in front of everyone, with one of Kogaya Rei's sushi rolls still in his mouth.

Customers: !!

Former King of Part-Time Jobs, who'd eaten three sushi rolls: ...

Kogaya Rei silently spat the sushi out of her mouth. "Is that really necessary? At least, it shouldn't be..."

On her Pth day of part-time work, Kogaya Rei took the lesson to heart and avoided showing her face in public, switching to housekeeping instead.

Nothing happened until the job was done. Kogaya Rei thought her part-time career was finally taking a turn for the better, and even the new clothes ruined by grease stains didn't seem to matter much.

An hour later, a cop took Kogaya Rei in to identify the bloody murder weapon in a refrigerator...

The old man, picking her up from the police station for who-knows-how-many times: "Are you really that short on money?"

By her Qth day of part-time work, Kogaya Rei had learned to defuse bombs with her bare hands, maxed out her counter-surveillance skills, and even picked a job that was "guaranteed to be safe"!

Then the suspect died at the police station after drinking the bottled water Kogaya Rei had brought him.

Her former colleague, a police officer scarred by all this: "For world peace, please stop taking part-time jobs!"

Kogaya Rei, bewildered: "What did my liking part-time jobs ever do to you?!"

Reader's Guide:
