It was the hottest summer of Meng Xun's memories.
The coastal city's irritating typhoon weather, rice noodle rolls and Sha County steamed dumplings in the morning, the complicated smell of boys' sweat mixed with the ink on exam papers in the classroom, and the sticky sweat that covered her the moment she stepped outside into the sweltering heat.
All of it made up her unchanging life at a key high school: dull, tedious, day after day.
Then transfer student Jiang Yuanyuan stumbled into her life, chewing gum without a care, with ten different colors on her ten fingernails. She was as fiery and vivid as her appearance.
She carried a rich, dangerous, intoxicating fragrance.
Her slender arm familiarly draped around Meng Xun's neck. In the warmth of her breath, she smelled like some alluring, fragrant plant. "Good student, aren't you tired? Why not come play with us? You'll have so much fun."
Meng Xun was cornered by her, helplessly retreating step by step.
