Old Grudges Remain

I'm trying to write some original stories. I hope the writing process goes smoothly.

As I said before, I think I can finish it in 50,000 words (serious face).

·

Everyone in H City's rich-kid crowd knows that Young Master Wei Zhao never gets attached to the women he brings to parties.

He always moves on, after two or three months at most, or as soon as a week or two.

Until one day, he brought a woman named Chi Chu.

One sentence from her made him set down his wine and switch to Yakult.

Two sentences made him announce he was quitting smoking and drinking and embracing a healthy lifestyle.

As for the third... before she could even say it, he was already cutting ties with his disreputable friends!

·

He calls her a naive little sweetheart to her face, but secretly uses his connections to make things easy for her.

His friends laugh that she's good at playing him, and he coldly warns them to shut up.

Then everyone starts saying Wei Zhao has fallen in love and an old tree has finally blossomed.

Wei Zhao rolls his eyes and tells them to watch less TV.

Then he turns around and diligently drives her to and from work,

looking like a shameless fool in love.

·

Chi Chu sat next to Wei Zhao in their first year of high school.

Back then, she was a hopelessly naive sweetheart.

Instead of liking him, she gave a love letter to one of his lackeys.

He had always been arrogant and self-important, and couldn't stand that she liked someone else. Jealousy burned in his eyes.

In a fit of pique, he had his lackey post her letter on the lost-and-found board, and soon everyone knew about it.

He even made sure to tell her who was really to blame:

I only promised to get my family to look after his family's business.

He'd do anything for a favor.

The only reason you like him is that you're blind.

·

At first, they simply stopped speaking to each other.

Then, after summer vacation, she transferred schools without a word, and they lost touch.

From then on, the name Chi Chu became a thorn in Wei Zhao's heart.

Until they met again seven years later.

·

Just when Wei Zhao thought she might stand by his side again,

she listed every favor he'd done for her in secret and thanked him, her smile light and mocking:

I'm just a shameless opportunist, willing to do anything for a favor.

Young Master Wei, you're the one who's blind~

Seven years later, she gave his own words back to him, exactly as he'd said them.
