A Shovel from the Start

Xie Wuyu accidentally binds himself to a System and receives a shovel as his starter equipment. Looking at the desolate wasteland, he nods confidently. "Farming, right? I get it."

The System says, "No, this is Ruin No. 1."

Xie Wuyu: "?"

Later, the world changes. Contaminants come ashore, and everyone lives in fear. Then a small shop appears out of nowhere, putting up random new items every day: mechs, spirit weapons, magic wands, skill cards, and more... It has practically everything.

The only problem is that the quantities are tiny, and the shopkeeper disappears from time to time.

Customers cry out in anguish: "This is a matter of life and death! Where's the shopkeeper? Why haven't you restocked yet? Even the donkeys on the production team don't take breaks this long!"

Xie Wuyu swings his shovel until it smokes. "I'm digging! I'm digging!"

A customer asks, "Can I make a wish, shopkeeper? I want a spatial ability."

Xie Wuyu looks at the snake carcasses all around him. "No, because even I don't know which ruin I'll end up in."

Even the authorities often come by to visit, putting together a training plan for him and asking every day, "Did you manage to produce a little more today?"

Xie Wuyu, being chased by tentacles at the bottom of the sea: "Any minute now!!!"

Sure enough, he comes back that night with a bountiful haul, along with a tentacle monster that can dig eight holes at a time. Other than liking to snuggle and getting underfoot, there's nothing much wrong with it.

Later, the System sees Xie Wuyu lounging in a rocking chair and basking in the sun, with a tentacle feeding him a drink. Then it looks at the other tentacles hard at work. "..." You're spoiling him rotten!
