Monster Psychologist

Deep beneath the earth, in a place without end, a group of monsters is trapped in chaos.

They beg their great savior for power, but are forced to endure mental contamination. Every day they toss and turn in extreme terror and anxiety, until they become mad, panicked, and restless...

Until one day, a human knocks on their door.

Zhao Youqian: “Hello. Are you looking for a therapist?”

Zhao Youqian is an ordinary animal medium. She’s spent her whole life working honestly and never done anything out of line.

On her way home from work, she discovers that an impostor has taken the place of her coworker. As it happens, she’s cautious and likes to bring a weapon when she works late.

So she carefully cuts the impostor in two.

While fleeing, she accidentally enters a monster’s mansion. A three-headed dog, Baron Crocodile... The monsters are tearing at one another and shrieking madly.

As it happens, she’s cautious and never lets a potential client get away.

So she carefully gets the monsters to sign up for treatment.

The System requires her to exchange money for survival time. As it happens, Zhao Youqian always collects payment before starting a job.

So she leaves the instance with a bulging wallet, carefully making her way out.

After her successful treatments, the monsters spread the word, competing to invite her to the most contaminated places to work as their therapist.

As it happens, she’s cautious, likes to bring a weapon when working overtime, never lets potential clients get away, and always collects payment first.

So...

While players avoid monsters like the plague, she knocks on their doors.

While players fight over money until they’re bloody and bruised, she takes money from the monsters, with 90 percent paid upfront.

While players risk their lives disguising themselves to infiltrate monster banquets, the monsters respectfully invite her inside.

At the banquet, the monster butlers line up to ask her, one by one, “Can you treat them? Can you treat someone this crazy?”

Zhao Youqian answers cautiously: “We can work something out, but pay me first.”

The world is dangerous and twisted. Monsters lose themselves in the whirlpool of power, mutating and becoming contaminated, dragging countless players into the abyss.

But beneath the dim yellow light, Zhao Youqian sits at her desk, reviewing case files and filling out a diagnosis with her pen:

They’re not crazy. They’re just sick.
