I'm the Tragic Heroine's Sidekick

Meng Xihe transmigrates as the only daughter of the richest imperial merchant in the land: busty, brainless, beautiful, and rich.

She's also the sidekick of a tragic romance heroine.

When the hero and heroine get mad at each other, she takes the blame.

When the heroine is bullied by villains, she takes the hits and gets stabbed.

Even when the heroine jumps off a cliff, she has to jump first and break her fall.

Later, when the heroine wants to seize the throne for the hero, she rushes to offer up her family's fortune.

In the finale, the hero and heroine have twins, take the throne, and the heroine marries her off to the hero's bodyguard.

She accompanies him into seclusion among the desert sands.

Her husband is a man of justice, out performing heroic deeds every day, while she has to wash clothes, cook, raise the children, care for his elderly mother, and earn money from a street stall to support the family.

When the heroine, now empress, hears about it, she smiles in satisfaction. "Xihe may be living a hard life now, but it's full of meaning. It's even washed away her tacky love of money. I'm so happy for her."

Fortunately, this is still at the point when they've only just met, and the heroine hasn't yet been acknowledged by the prime minister's household. She's selling herself to pay for her father's burial and tugging at Meng Xihe's skirt with tearful eyes. "Miss, please be kind and buy me. I'll cost only twenty taels of silver."

"I wouldn't take you even if you paid me two hundred," Meng Xihe coldly refuses.

The heroine, not having understood yet, is already kowtowing. "Thank you for your great benevolence, mi..." Before she can finish saying "mercy," she realizes what was said and stares in shock. "You, you're not buying me?"

Looking at the heroine's utterly certain expression, Meng Xihe thinks: ??? Has the heroine been reborn too?

Theme: Wherever the light shines, the world is radiant.
