I Got the Wrong Everyone-Loves-Me Script

Meng Jianwei, a caretaker of little worlds, has suffered the biggest failure of his career.

In the little world of the original novel, Meng Jianwei is the heroine's scumbag ex-boyfriend. After meeting a rich young lady, he becomes a gold-digger, abandons the heroine for money, and rushes into the rich young lady's arms.

Meng Jianwei exists to help the heroine realize just how wonderful other men are

Like the childhood neighbor boy who has never stopped loving her.

Like the wealthy young master who takes notice of the heroine while investigating his younger sister's current boyfriend.

Like the cool delinquent who pursues her relentlessly...

One after another, they come looking for Meng Jianwei to "stand up for justice" on the heroine's behalf. In the original novel, Meng Jianwei is eventually kidnapped and taken into the mountains, where he is tortured until he is no longer recognizable, then starves to death in the remote wilderness.

The original character awakens and runs away. Meng Jianwei transmigrates in, skims through the script, and calmly closes it. "Simple."

He's naturally a scumbag, so he can just play himself.

Before long, though, Meng Jianwei realizes something. Why is this plot different from the one he read?

Why did the heroine elope with the rich young lady?

Why are the male leads chasing after him like crazy?

Why has he been rewarded with a little black room, shackles, and declarations of love from three lunatics?

Weren't they supposed to torment him, humiliate him, and trample on his dignity?

Not like that, hey!

Theme: Be independent and true to yourself.
