[Honkai: Star Rail Crossover] She Is a Dragon

[Complete] New story in my column: [Honkai: Star Rail] Is This Game Even Serious? "The day I was born, I saw a dragon in the sky. I swear, it was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. His body was like a jade sash, his horns like coral. At rest, he was as tranquil as shimmering lake water; in motion, he was like waves surging to the heavens. His roar was mournful, the corners of his eyes scarlet, his gaze four parts sorrow, three parts indifference, two parts disdain, and one part nonchalance..." "...In plain words." "I took one look at your revered dragon and fell for him at first sight. I mean, I fell in love with him at first sight, so I crossed the galaxy from thousands of miles away to woo him and take him home to get married." A few notes: - A Honkai: Star Rail fanfic, a slice-of-life romantic comedy. You can enjoy it without knowing the original. - Original female lead, paired with Dan Feng. A western dragon woman and an eastern dragon man in a romance between nonhumans. - An everyone-gets-a-happy-ending High-Cloud Quintet alternate universe. The setting belongs to the original work; the happy ending and out-of-character moments are mine. - There are some Fate/Grand Order Easter eggs, hence the crossover tag. Coming soon: [Honkai: Star Rail] This Is Not a Serious Game "The relationships between men and women in this mortal world are an utter mess!" - Opening line of A Grand Galactic Stage In the interstellar age, cyber technology is advancing at breakneck speed, and the entertainment market is changing by the day. In 80XX, the full-dive game A Grand Galactic Stage burst onto the scene. Players from across the universe could enter and meet, get to know, and fall in love with strangers from billions of light-years away, sharing an extraordinary life of fantasy. Hai Xiao, an established author who writes under the pen name Hai Ling Xiao Xiao Sheng, has spent a century immersed in classical literature and scoffs at this newfangled entertainment: "I'm dead. Isn't this just a rave?" But fate has other ideas. To finish her new book, Hai Xiao accepts a commission from her publisher and ventures into the game world to gather material. There, she travels through all kinds of game settings and encounters players from different planets: A workaholic general, eight hundred years old and still pulling overtime; A good-for-nothing leader who was running naked in the streets at a young age; A spicy teacher who bounces around everywhere, from heaven to earth; A pure-love warrior who is kind, gentle, courteous, and humble, despite being able to destroy the heavens and the earth; There, all players are reassigned new roles. Mortal enemies become lovers, best friends become father and son. You can't tell who is paired with whom, or who gave birth to whom. And the game instances they experience together are each more convoluted and bizarre than the last, providing Hai Xiao with endless inspiration, including but not limited to: [Shocking! Reincarnated as the domineering general's one true love, she runs while he chases, but even her star-destroying battleship can't get away] [Explosive! The Guardians of the Vongola Family turn against each other, all because he killed his own him for her] [Tragic! I still love you even in death. After I became a Special Grade Cursed Spirit, the entire world of jujutsu regretted it too late] [Incredible! I'm going to turn the entire universe into one big rave] Editor: "Your new book is very creative, but isn't the plot a bit too outrageous? This could be slander against the leaders of several planets, including the friends who helped you gather material..." Hai Xiao: "Oh, my friends said my slander was way ahead of its time and told me to make it longer. They said I shouldn't spare a single planet. The relationships between men and women in this mortal world should be an utter mess." Editor: "?" Theme: Love and courage will ultimately triumph over fate.
