Jing Yan and Sheng Yao are a famously sworn pair of rivals. From national academic competitions in every subject to the last pork rib in the cafeteria, from top student to school bully, from campus heartthrob to campus beauty, there was nothing they wouldn't compete over. Their wins and losses were more or less evenly split. They had perfectly inherited the Jing and Sheng families' tradition and taken it to even greater heights.
When Sheng Yao beat him by a single vote to become the campus heartthrob, Jing Yan presented flowers too, only his were an upgraded version: a custom-made luxury funeral wreath.
When Jing Yan snatched the campus beauty title first, Sheng Yao magnanimously sent the winner a pair of reading glasses, along with a limited-edition appointment with an eye specialist.
Later, the Sheng family fell from power.
The next time Jing Yan saw Sheng Yao, it was three years later.
Jing Yan glanced up at the man before him. His gaze fell on the lipstick mark at the collar of his shirt and the scratches hidden beneath it. He whistled. "You really went at it, Young Master Sheng."
With one arm around the pretty young man beside him, he teasingly lifted the boy's chin with the other. His breath brushed the boy's lips, intimate and suggestive. "Sweetheart, take notes."
Sheng Yao bent down, his voice low and sultry. "What do you think of me, Young Master Jing?"
Jing Yan smiled. "You? Not fresh and tender enough, but you might just pass."
Instead of getting angry, Sheng Yao smiled back and slipped his fingers suggestively into Jing Yan's collar. "And compared to the one beside you?"
Jing Yan's gaze darkened. He seized Sheng Yao's wrist and yanked him into his arms. "You're slightly better."
