A Folkways Book from the Start

Late August, with the sun blazing overhead.

Tan Cong heads into the forests of southern Guizhou to conduct field research. Along the way, he picks up a book on folk customs to pass the time.

As the pages turn, it feels like the opening of a horror story: the "folk taboos" lurking in everyday life reach out, one by one.

In an ancient text, the characters of a ghostly book slowly twist and change shape;

In a cave, a cliffside hanging coffin quietly opens from within;

Beneath a pool, a monstrous snake covered in compound eyes silently grins...

It is as if a voice is whispering in his ear: Welcome to the world of truth.

Chinese folk customs, horror and suspense.

There is a romance, but the plot comes first.

Theme: Fear no hardship.
