The Tang Dynasty's First Female Chancellor

Zhu Zhifeng transmigrates to the tenth year of the Zhenguan era in the Tang dynasty and becomes the newly appointed leader of a band of robbers. The previous owner of her body had been raised as a boy since childhood and had just lost her father. The so-called “son” inherits after his father’s death. On her first raid, she and her men barely got started before she fell off her horse and died! Zhu Zhifeng returns to life in another body and listens as her subordinates report what happened. Her men refused to give up, and dragged the caravan they had robbed back up the mountain. Among its captives was the second daughter of the Wu family, whose father had also just died. His name was Wu Shiyue. Rumor spread around the stronghold that the new chief would marry the second Wu daughter and make her his wife. Zhu Zhifeng’s gaze slowly turned murderous. History says Wu Shiyue died in the ninth year of Zhenguan, and that the second Wu daughter entered the palace in the eleventh year. Years later, she became the empress Wu Zetian. So here’s the question. Now that her life in the Tang dynasty has begun, can it still be salvaged after she’s kidnapped Wu Zetian? * * Later unofficial histories record: The origins of Chancellor Zhu Zhifeng are a mystery. She is erudite and well versed in both ancient and modern affairs. She rose rapidly through the ranks, served three reigns, enjoyed a close relationship with the emperors, and wielded power across the land. The only words carved on Chancellor Zhu’s tombstone were: “One prison-escape tip a day.” [Reading Notes: 1. Alternate history! Alternate history! Alternate history! 2.
