The Glory of Our Fathers (Fanfiction)

The two decades that transformed China's forestry beyond recognition. During this period, Gu Changshan adopts Xingjie, the son of a partner who died in the line of duty. After much hesitation, the Gu family ultimately decides to support Xingjie in continuing his education elsewhere. The threat of layoffs also comes to an end, with some of the younger workers leaving first. Those who stay, led by Gu Changshan, start a "family ecological forest" project, temporarily solving their livelihood crisis. In 2007, as the transformation reaches a new turning point, a relocation project begins in the remote forest regions to protect the ecosystem and improve people's lives. The 923 work team once again faces the question of whether to leave. Xingjie is also drawn back to the mountains. After resolving his family's crisis, he takes on the task of persuading people to relocate, and finds his own sense of purpose in the process. He decides to stay and shoulder the mission of forestry reform.

Ning Ning comes from the 21st century into this era of immense change, adrift like duckweed.

She meets Chen Xingjie, who is in a similar situation, and the two rely on each other as they make their way through life.
