The Divergent

After the war, everything was in ruins. To let the surviving humans live in peace and preserve the future of humanity, the founder divided people into five factions: Amity, Candor, Dauntless, Abnegation, and Erudite. Each faction had its own occupation.

When people turned eighteen, they took a personality test and chose their faction.

But some people were different: Divergents. They belonged to no faction, or rather, they had the personality traits of all five factions. They were also considered a threat to peace, an unstable element.

Ying was born Dauntless, a member of the faction from birth. She wanted to leave. In the meantime, she did odd jobs and filed records within Dauntless. She didn't like adventure, thrills, or fighting. She just wanted a quiet, stable life.

But in the year before she was due to leave, she met an unusual man from Abnegation.

His name was Four. He had a lot of secrets...
