Starting as a Servant in a Republican-Era Household

Blurb:

Zhou Qianling transmigrated into a bandit stronghold during the Republican era.

She steeled herself, killed the second-in-command, burned the food supplies, and fled.

The police and the underworld both put out a hundred-dollar bounty to find her.

Disguised as a man, she hid in a wealthy household as a servant to lie low.

Before she knew it, she'd worked her way up to manager.

"Manager Zhou, the city has fallen. My children and I are counting on you."

1. This is an imaginary setting, entirely fictional. Please don't overanalyze it.

Theme: A fine horse may brave danger, but it plows worse than an ox; a sturdy cart can carry heavy loads, but it crosses a river worse than a boat.
