Prewritten drafts for upcoming stories. If I can't keep writing the car-card story, I'll save the drafts here instead.
I got so mad at those Japanese bastards, so I decided to mix nuclear-contaminated water into Gin's story too. (Black Organization: ? Thanks a lot, I guess.)
Blurb (draft version):
As someone born with yin-yang eyes who could see ghosts from childhood, Zhaohuai went through a whole series of growing-up experiences: being abandoned, being scared to tears by ghosts, discovering he could touch ghosts, beating ghosts until they cried, and charging people to exorcise them.
But because he beat up too many ghosts and hit them too hard, he gradually found that he couldn't get any jobs. Any little ghost with some sense would steer clear of him, making sure not to show up anywhere in his territory.
Zhaohuai: Is being too dedicated my fault or something???!
At last, Zhaohuai learned to save seventy percent of his strength, slack off, and raise ghosts, developing a sustainable method of fishing from a drained pond. He looked all around, but to his disappointment, there wasn't a single ghost in sight. He counted his savings and realized that after subtracting the money he had to send to the orphanage director every month, he had only enough left to lie flat for two years.
He had to find a way to make money. After thinking it over, Zhaohuai slipped into the City God temple on the city wall, burned incense devoutly, and asked the City God to find him a job in the spirit world. He wasn't asking to get rich, just for room and board.
That night, Black and White Impermanence brought a ghost wearing a black hooded cloak whose face couldn't be seen into his dream, and gave him an offer for an overseas internship.
Chilled to the bone, Zhaohuai said, "Thanks, bro, but, bro, will I be able to come back?"
White Impermanence smiled broadly, his long tongue hanging out, and nodded. "You'll come back when the job is done."
Zhaohuai: "...Then I'm in!"
After the black-hooded ghost took him to Japan, they arrived at a secluded spot in... a tropical-themed amusement park at dusk.
The black hood pulled out a map. "You'll live here from now on." (Pointing to a house in Beika Town.)
Zhaohuai, who hadn't expected that going abroad would mean crossing dimensions: "… AAAAAAAAAAA! Why here?! I want more money! Pay me compensation for emotional distress!!!"
Unmoved, the black hood said, "...Meet your coworker." (Pointing to a silver-haired man in a black trench coat with green eyes, walking toward them.)
Zhaohuai: "…"
Zhaohuai shut his eyes, kicked out his legs, and collapsed peacefully.
His new coworker, Gin, lowered his hat brim, glanced over Zhaohuai's face as he lay on the ground pretending to be dead, scoffed, tossed down a card, and turned to leave.
Once Gin had gone far enough, Zhaohuai snatched up the card and sprang to his feet. He peeled off the slip of paper with the PIN written on it and checked it on his phone.
Seeing that long string of zeroes, Zhaohuai excitedly patted what looked like the black hood's shoulder, nearly knocking him apart.
Zhaohuai: "I'll get the job done! All I have to do is follow my coworker around and pick up souls, right? Leave it to me!"
Black Hood: "...Once you help your coworker collect the target's soul, the job is done."
Full of confidence, Zhaohuai opened the folder the black hood handed him. The name Renya Karasuma was right there in the first row of the target names.
Well, I'll be! Gin, you dark-haired, sharp-eyed guy, you've been watering things down too!!!
Hearing the sound of something cutting through the air and a body hitting the ground heavily from around the corner in the distance, Zhaohuai looked at the Ferris wheel. A flash of insight crackled through his mind, and he understood where they were in the timeline.
In that case, all he had to do was go along with his coworker, do this and that, and cut the little Grim Reaper some slack while slacking off himself. Then he could just sit back and wait for the work to come to him!
Seeing his coworker walking toward him with Vodka, Zhaohuai formed a Taiji yin-yang seal with both hands and silently thanked the City God for finding him such a great job.
A high-paying job with room and board, here I come!!!
...Zhaohuai, who still hadn't realized he'd see a veritable sea of people and ghosts in Beika Town, was a silly little rabbit today, too.
Rambling:
The inspiration came from suddenly wondering why Gin sent Vodka off alone to make the deal at the amusement park, then only showed up a while later to knock out Shinichi, who had been spying on them. I took that gap in time and stuffed Zhaohuai in there. (Look at the name I gave him...)
I don't know if there'll be a couple. If there is, it'll only be Gin, since I wrote this after getting mad at those Japanese bastards... Well, even if his main job is being the Grim Reaper, Gin's still a model worker. The Black Organization's downfall depends on the radiation from this bottle of nuclear-contaminated water!
Theme: Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility.
