Let's blow up OO Shrine (lol)
This isn't a tabletop role-playing story, though it borrows a few elements from tabletop role-playing. Each character sheet is kind of a secret identity, I guess.
No outline. This is my first time writing a medium-length novel, so I'll just see where it goes. I won't publish it commercially. It'll definitely become an embarrassing relic of my past.
OOC is my fault, and any plot holes are my fault. My goal is to write something more sensible than Yoshio Urasawa.
Blurb (draft):
[Red and Black Tabletop Role-Playing Fan Scenario Project]: Through the enthusiastic participation of players (PLs), this project aims to let PLs roam freely in an open world of Red versus Black and explore the potential of the Red and Black timeline. Players can choose their own objectives and ways to clear the game. As long as a PL acts through a player character (PC) they created and achieves their chosen goal, that timeline will be considered cleared. After review, it can move on to the follow-up scenario completion stage.
The System, the project administrator, was putting the selected PLs into their respective blank scenario instances when it mistakenly dragged Gu Yan, who was traveling in Japan, into an instance, thinking he was one of the Japanese PLs.
And so Gu Yan was walking along, eating ice cream and singing, when the System suddenly kidnapped him.
In response to the System's "hontou ni sumimasen," Gu Yan silently snapped his ice cream stick, turned off the March of the Great Swords in his headphones, and rolled up his sleeves.
"So you're saying we can do whatever we want in the scenario world, right?" Gu Yan asked after a moment, smiling as he fixed the System with a dangerous look. "Then how about I make a character sheet who's a criminal, carries a dozen eggs, and lives in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward?"
"...W-what are you planning to do?"
The System looked at Gu Yan, whose face radiated peace and love even as the veins on the back of his hand throbbed, and sensed trouble.
Gu Yan, who'd nearly gotten the System kicked out of the rabbit club, narrowed his eyes and gave it a cold smile.
"Obviously..."
"I'm gonna blow up OO Shrine."
"Just so we're clear, I'll review every character sheet after you make it!"
The System wanted to object, but couldn't, and had no authority to stop Gu Yan, an unauthorized PL, from writing "blow up OO Shrine" into a blank scenario. Knowing there was no way to change the outcome, it could only struggle to impose one final restriction: Gu Yan couldn't run amok in the scenario and become an egg-carrying terrorist.
It was only an administrator, but this [Red and Black Tabletop Role-Playing Fan Scenario Project] was, after all, a project made in Japan. What kind of ending would it be if a rabbit blew Japan to smithereens?!
"So there's absolutely no way you're starting with a dozen eggs in your inventory!" the System yelled at the top of its lungs.
Gu Yan rolled the dice and made his character sheet, paying no attention to the System's noise. He thought, well, you shouldn't have dragged in this Chinese rabbit. Besides, the Fourth Impact isn't just a saying... Even in the real world, there's that one Japanese god of explosions.
The project agreement? What's that? He wasn't the one who signed it. Whatever document that unknown Japanese PL signed has nothing to do with Gu Yan.
System: I was wrong. I never should've approved this PL's application. If I hadn't approved it, I wouldn't have run into this rabbit. If I hadn't run into this rabbit, I wouldn't have watched this scenario get blown to pieces...
Gu Yan: You say that like these buildings wouldn't have been blown up without me.
And so, some time later...
In the wholesome town of Beika, Teitan University gained a Chinese exchange student who kept getting caught up in all kinds of cases.
In the talent-packed Black Organization, there was a bottle of Palace Jade Liquor that had once blown Gin's car to smithereens.
In the loving, filial America, the FBI discovered a promising Asian recruit among its trainee agents, one who'd go undercover in Japan.
Gu Yan diligently played the characters he'd created, striving toward his ultimate goal.
The System, seeing that every character had maxed-out demolition skills: (lights a cigarette with a weary look) So, which character sheet are you using to do it?
Gu Yan: Hmm... guess. (smiles)
Theme: Hard work makes dreams come true.
System: After a 1500-word crazy apology (I'm sorry there is no solution, please consider yourself unlucky) ?(?ε` )
Still struggling with the structure of the case, waiting for me to think about it...
Help, why is this a trap?
Mihua big stage, come if you are destined
When are you going to blow up the God's toilet? Take me one! If possible, we would also bury 100 million points on Mount Fuji.
