General Star

[Synopsis provisional: A story about a little girl who lives off others and waits for death, and her "ghost raising" adventures.]

*

Shen Xingyuan was personally betrothed to Marquis Anzhao by imperial decree.

In the past, Shen Xingyuan would have been the envy of everyone. Now, all they felt was sorry for her.

Because Marquis He Jun'an was hovering between life and death, and this marriage was meant to bring him good fortune.

They called it a marriage to bring good fortune, but everyone knew the truth: there was a ninety percent chance Shen Xingyuan would become a widow after marrying into the Marquis of Anzhao's household.

Shen Xingyuan felt little about it, until she saw He Jun'an lying in bed.

More precisely, she saw He Jun'an's... ghost beside the bed?

Calling it a ghost wasn't quite accurate, since the body lying in bed still had a faint pulse.

From then on, Shen Xingyuan had one more thing to do besides eating and sleeping: keep a "ghost" entertained.

He Jun'an was a name that made enemy generals tremble. Since he first went to war, he had only ever suffered one defeat.

That defeat seemed to leave He Jun'an badly wounded. For the next three years, he never appeared in public again.

The only news about him was that three years earlier, Miss Shen, who had married He Jun'an, had packed her things and gone to Hejiang City not long after entering the marquis's residence.

Hejiang City was the city He Jun'an had once defended.

Later, a great army attacked outside Hejiang City.

On the city wall stood a figure clad in armor, a red plume fluttering in the wind.

It was a woman.

And the spear in her hand was unmistakably He Jun'an's former weapon.
