The Moon Goddess's Bride [Infinite]

++++-

"Look at the moon!"

Before a portion of the world's population suddenly vanished, everyone was bombarded with the same message.

People looked up at the moon. It seemed perfectly ordinary.

Just as everyone thought it was a prank on Christmas Eve, that ordinary moon began to grow larger and redder.

It hung overhead like a gigantic tumor, and everyone could see the red moon gently throbbing.

One crater after another became visible on its surface, like eyes meeting the gaze of everyone who looked up at it.

When the moon opened its blood-red eyes, everyone who met its gaze became a subject of the gods.

That night, seventy percent of Earth's population vanished.

Tsurumi Tsuki was a little upset. Just before she disappeared, she had finally saved enough for a down payment and picked out an apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows.

After hearing the rabbit who had guided her explain what had happened,

Tsurumi Tsuki became even more upset.

Because the rabbit said that everyone who appeared in Moon City was a candidate bride.

Whoever survived round after round of selection would become the Moon God's bride.

Tsurumi Tsuki had no desire to become the Moon God's bride. She just wanted to go home and diligently make her mortgage payments every month.

Otherwise, all the money she'd spent on the apartment would be down the drain.

When Tsurumi Tsuki cleared the first instance alive, she was covered in bloody scratches, but she was thrilled.

The reward for clearing the instance was what the rabbit called the Moon God's blessing.

It was a pink diamond, unimaginably precious on Earth. Just one could buy an apartment several times larger than Tsurumi Tsuki's little place.

Tsurumi Tsuki was delighted.

Her goal changed from figuring out how to return and pay off her mortgage to figuring out how to loot the Moon God's treasury.

Christians believe that God loves all humanity.

But when they saw a living god, they learned that the gods don't care about people, just as humans don't care about ants.
