[Mob Psycho] Rating the Internet's Most Popular Espers

[Blurb archived on August 19, 2023]

[Planned as a short recovery story between two long novels. I write rather slowly, but I commissioned a cover, so I'll definitely write it qvq]

Niwa Hanasaki considers herself an observer of humanity.

Without exception, information about everyone appears before her eyes like game stats: name, age, height, weight, identity, interests, special skills, and more.

Not even the cleverest liar can fool her psychic ability.

Observers have two major taboos.

First, getting too close to the people they observe.

Second, letting anyone discover that they are observers.

She perfectly balances watching from the sidelines with getting involved, until an arrogant, rude, and wilful psychic underclassman barges into her life without permission.

"Niwa-senpai, would you consider going out with me?"

"No."

"Niwa-senpai, you're a psychic, aren't you?"

"I'm not."

He hit the mark twice. What a disaster.

Worse, her underclassman, whom she'd started to develop a few feelings for, seems to have been bullied, causing his personality to change completely.

Niwa Hanasaki leaps to her feet and slams the table, outraged on behalf of her blue-eyed boy: "I don't care how annoying you are, nobody has the right to do something that awful to you! Who was it? Tell me their name! I'll show them what a psychic can do!"

"Niwa-senpai, let me explain. It's not what you think... Wait, you finally admitted you're a psychic?"

"..."

Looking at her underclassman's handsome face, beaming with delight, Niwa Hanasaki thinks in despair:

It's over, in every sense of the word.

|| Reader's Guide ||

1. Short story, a recovery project, boy-girl romance, with Teruki as the love interest.

2. Mutual feelings, one-on-one romance, a sweet everyday-life love story.

3. Tentatively, the story features only one psychic. The heroine's ability is as described in the blurb, and she's not a fighter.

Theme: Be a good person.
