The Desperate Asexual Caught in a Bizarre Love Polygon

Blurb:

I'm a shut-in who likes watching anime, playing games, and occasionally writing stories. I enjoy historical dramas and don't follow celebrities. Right now, I'm in the middle of writing my graduate thesis, and I absolutely adore it.

A month ago, a classmate introduced me to my now-ex-boyfriend.

He was gentle, tall, and a graduate student at a top university. The only problem was that he minded my height of 153 centimeters and my weight of 50 kilograms. So I lost weight, put on makeup, permed my hair, did his laundry, cooked, cleaned, and resolved to become a beauty.

Unfortunately, my ex still broke up with me.

My ex: “I love you too much. I'm afraid I'll give up a high-paying job elsewhere because of you, so I'm breaking up with you.”

Me: “Damn, that's impressive.”

I couldn't make sense of it, so I vented in the group chat. Unfortunately, not one of my childhood friends replied for two days.

Later, I got sick and took a leave of absence from school to go home. My childhood sweetheart and childhood friend came to my house and cooked a huge meal for me.

They apologized.

Then they both confessed their feelings at the same time.

...What?!

Reality is often more exciting than fiction, so I immediately messaged my best friend, who writes novels on Jinjiang.

Me: Holy crap, you have no idea, you seriously have no idea. Anyway, after my first love dumped me, both my childhood sweetheart and childhood friend confessed to me!

Bestie: ...Didn't you say you wanted us to rent a place together and live there? I'll come tomorrow.

I immediately said yes. My bestie and I are super close. We often talk about novels, and she understands me as well as I understand her!

She once joked that if she were a guy, she'd pursue me, and I happily agreed, because I thought she was the person in the world who understood me best.

With my ex, childhood friend, and childhood sweetheart all acting crazy at the same time, things are really bad. I have no idea what to do. I'd feel much better if she were by my side.
