Nobody Does Sichuan Style Better Than Us!

I wanted to write an episodic, feel-good story about heroines in several different worlds, and in the end I decided on quick transmigration. The first world will be the food-themed one from the blurb, focused mainly on Sichuan cuisine. The second will be about Shu embroidery, and the third about the Tang Sect of Shu. I wanted to include some distinctive features of Sichuan. For now, though, I’ve only thought of these three (shrugs.jpg). The later worlds will be about other things.

Blurb: Lin Qingwu transmigrates into the body of the Zhou family’s real daughter, who was switched at birth.

The Zhou family descends from legendary imperial chefs. They own the most famous long-established restaurant in the capital, along with many other businesses, and their associates are all wealthy and influential.

The fake daughter weeps. “Please don’t drive me away. Don’t take the title of Eldest Miss of the Zhou family from me. The heir and I truly love each other.”

Her biological father frowns. “Take the money and don’t come back unless you have to. In a few years, I’ll find you an honest young man to marry. There’s no need to acknowledge each other. It wouldn’t be good for Jiaojiao. She’s about to marry the young marquis.”

Lin Qingwu looks at the plaque hanging above the restaurant entrance, bestowed by the founding emperor. “I’ll earn a plaque like that for myself, too.”

Everyone sneers when they learn that Lin Qingwu has inherited a shabby little eatery.

But before long, they discover that her little eatery is thriving.

Plaques bestowed by the emperor and gifts from others fill an entire room. The emperor even visits the eatery in person.

Prince Rui, whom everyone praises as the perfect gentleman, is actually helping Lin Qingwu in the kitchen.

Her biological father immediately regrets his decision and runs to cling to the doorway of Lin Qingwu’s restaurant. “My dear daughter, come home with your father! You can inherit the family restaurant, and there’s a wonderful marriage waiting for you, too.”

The young heir of the marquis’s house: “...I have feelings for you.”

Lin Qingwu: “Heh...”

Prince Rui: “Hah!”

1. A sweet, satisfying food story. The romance remains a slow burn, the leads are devoted only to each other, and the heroine’s career remains the main focus.

2. The blurb was written on June 23, 2022, according to my saved post on Weibo.

Theme: Good food can conquer anything!
