While player Tim was doing his daily quests as usual on his own account, the System popped up and asked if he wanted to try out a Batman Kid experience run.
Curious, he clicked yes.
He opened his eyes in a cultivation tank, with no exit button.
Tim: ?
He suddenly didn't want to be a Batman Kid anymore.
In the games he'd played before, his storyline was either a life of going to work or a life of being a wage slave. And now this experience run had become permanent. Surely his new life couldn't be all work, could it?
Tim climbed out, ready to get as far away from Gotham as possible, when he happened to see a news story about Bruce, a wealthy sweetheart who looked frail and haggard after losing his son.
Tim had played every kind of scenario as a late-game solo player, and had never interacted with Bruce: ...
Kind of tempted.
Not long after, Batman gained a third Robin.
Clark was fretting over a pile of clues about Luthor helping people make kids, but couldn't figure out what they meant. Then he looked over and saw Bruce picking up another kid again!
He immediately went to confront him.
After making Bruce swear he wouldn't pick up any more kids, Clark saw the new Robin and confirmed the black hair and blue eyes. He looked almost serene as he asked, "Where did you pick him up?"
Bruce: "I've told you so many times, I didn't pick him up. I just opened the door..."
Listening to the family argue, Tim took a sip of the coffee Bruce didn't want, tapped away at the Batcomputer to write a report, and sighed over how wonderful life was.
But the game System that made people transmigrate was still alive.
System: [Your friend Talon Dick sent you a message.]
System: [Your friend Lord Connor is requesting a video call.]
System: [Your friend Joker Dada sent you a photo.]
Tim: ...
Tim: I'll have a sip of coffee and calm down.
