To be honest, I had no idea what the kid saw in me.

When Feng Ran saw the boy appear before him and invite him to join, he was honestly quite surprised.

“Why?”

His gaze passed over the teammates beside him. I didn’t have any special skills, and bringing me onto the team wasn’t going to give them much of a boost in combat.

I knew exactly where I stood: I could only serve as support.

“I need you.”

He was always so direct.

“...”

...Well, I suppose that was an answer, but it didn’t tell me anything important.

Still, as I looked at that cool, distant face, I realized that though we hadn’t spent much time together, I knew a little about what kind of person this kid was.

As for what he wanted to do... Since he’d invited me, I reached out my hand to him.

“Sure.”

I’d stay until I’d seen him do what he wanted to do, then I’d leave...
