[Genshin Impact] A Day in the Life at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor

This book will go VIP on October 1. Thank you, dear readers, for your support!

[The blurb's on-screen comment gimmick barely appears in the main story. If you're here for the on-screen comments, please think twice before reading! Just wanted to make that clear. I'm too lazy to revise the blurb and can't think of anything better.]

Xin Zai: the past cannot be revisited, and in this life, he was born and raised in Liyue. An ordinary undertaker at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, his colleague was the famous Not Worth Mentioning Adeptus.

He needed proof of an internship, so a kind-hearted young woman even younger than him introduced him to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Then he found out she was the director.

After she confidently thumped her chest and promised she could definitely provide proof of his internship, Xin Zai joined the staff.

On his first day at work, he fell in love at first sight with the Funeral Parlor's consultant, Mr. Zhongli.

Then he discovered that, at certain times, he could suddenly see comments floating over the consultant!

For example, when he was with that extraordinary Traveler, when he was listening to a storyteller at Third-Round Knockout, when he went out to shop for supplies, or when he went to Wangshu Inn to discuss business...

Xin Zai, who had never played video games in his previous life, silently watched as he followed the consultant around.

Until one day, while completing a commission, he discovered an earth-shattering secret:

The consultant was actually Rex Lapis!

He'd fallen in love at first sight with the Archon?!

Rex Lapis above, who have I been secretly in love with???

Oh, Rex Lapis himself.

Xin Zai sat at the table, gnawing on a candied hawthorn skewer as he figured it out.

Isn't it perfectly normal for the people of Liyue to like Rex Lapis?

He was just one of them.

Then he remembered that he'd asked Zhongli to bring him the candied hawthorn skewer so he'd have an excuse to talk to him a little longer. His hand trembled, and the skewer knocked against his teeth.

The next day, he went to see Baizhu with a swollen face and tears in his eyes.

!!!

Good heavens, the candied hawthorn skewer Mr. Zhongli bought himself!

Pairing: Zhongli. The ending was originally intended to be open-ended, and it wasn't certain whether Zhongli would fall for him. It would depend on how the story developed, so the ending was open. I wrote it aiming for an open ending, but somehow came up with three bad endings. So the author got mad and decided to write toward a happy ending instead. So now it's a happy ending~ If you don't like that, just click the X!

[Note]:

1. The protagonist has a Vision, but is an utterly ordinary background character in the game. His background won't be explored in depth.

2. Mora in this story is pegged to the purchasing power of RMB. For example, an egg costs 2 Mora and a grilled fish skewer costs 15 Mora, equivalent to one yuan in real life. Outlandish Mora prices apply only to the Traveler/player.

3. The author's logic has failed, and the writing is at a high-school essay level. If you don't like it, please don't put yourself through it. Just click the X and move on!

4. A meandering, brainless everyday-life story. √

5. Although the blurb uses the on-screen comment gimmick, there aren't many comments in the actual story (though they do serve a bit of a purpose), so I wanted to make that clear!
